Spurs v Man City
Premier League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Premier League, Tuesday, 8:00pm
This is a game that the entire football world will be watching with the Premier League title on the line. If Man City win this, their game in hand, they leapfrog Arsenal and take a lead into the final weekend of the season. A Spurs win, or even a draw, keeps Arsenal top, with all to play for on the final day. Both sides of North London will be cheering for Spurs on Tuesday.
Man City to Win
Sorry Arsenal fans but it’s hard to see anything but a Man City win here. The last time that Pep Guardiola’s team were beaten in the Premier League was at the start of December by Aston Villa and since then they’ve been a juggernaut. They’ve also won all seven league games since their 0-0 draw with current table toppers Arsenal.
Spurs have limped to the finish line this season and although they beat Nottingham Forest last week they’d lost four in a row before that, as their form in the second half of the season has collapsed. It’s Man City who have the most at stake here and the quality to ensure that they get the win.
Both Teams to Score
City’s defence has improved in the past month or two, and they have had three clean sheets in their past four games but they’ve still averaged just under one goal allowed per game in the Premier League this season.
They now face the kings of Both Teams to Score in Tottenham. Spurs have seen 75% of their Premier League games this season finish with both teams scoring, a higher percentage than anybody besides Luton. Even more wild is that just two of their league games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have finished without both teams scoring, the most recent of which was in October. Meaning that we’re now on a 14-game streak of BTTS landing at Spurs’ home ground.
Kevin De Bruyne to Score or Assist
When you’re talking about streaks you can’t really look beyond Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who comes into this on a great run of form. He’s had a goal or assist in each of his past five starts on the road, making that seven of nine away games in the Premier League in which he’s either scored or set one up.
It’s no coincidence that Man City’s form picked up when the Belgian regained fitness and returned to the team and with four goals and nine assists in 16 games, of which three came from the bench, he’s been the team’s most important player since his return to the lineup.

Rodri to Commit 2 or more Fouls
Rodri has given up a foul in 12 of 15 away games this season but we’re going to go one further and back him to give up two or more. He’s had eight yellow cards, and one red in 32 league games this year but the fact he’s been booked in five of 15 away games shows that he’s prone to more fouls away from the Etihad.
He’s committed an average of 1.27 fouls per 90 minutes played in the Premier League this season and with City’s title campaign on the line, and the fast counter-attacking ability of Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski in Spurs’ attack, he’s likely to need to employ the dark arts.
James Maddison to be Fouled 2 or more Times
Rodri’s placement in the heart of City’s midfield is also going to put him in close proximity to James Maddison, one of the Premier League’s most fouled players. The Englishman has been fouled 69 times in just 26 games and has been taken out 3.14 times per 90 minutes played.
Maddison is a key part of Spurs’ attacking gameplan, he’s incredibly dangerous around the box and capable of playing in his teammates, but he’s equally as dangerous in transition, with his passing abilities helping set off Spurs’ counterattacks. He’s the danger man and he’ll need to be kept in check if City want to get over the line.
