PSG and Dortmund have faced off against each other in the Champions League on three occasions this season, with each game seeing two goals or fewer.

However, just quite how last week’s first leg ended in a 1-0 Dortmund win remains a mystery. Both sides spurned several glorious opportunities in an enthralling encounter at the Westfalenstadion, with PSG hitting the post twice within 30 seconds in a gripping second half.

In need of at least one goal to keep the tie alive, PSG will have to go on the front foot at some point on Tuesday night and it remains to be seen whether they can deal with the threat of Dortmund on the break. Karem Adeyemi and Jadon Sancho caused significant problems for PSG last week and can do so again if afforded space.

Meanwhile, PSG possess the tools to unlock the Dortmund defence, as evidenced by their 2-0 win against them in Paris in the very first game of the Champions League campaign. Both teams can hurt one another and it would be a huge surprise if they were as wasteful.

Emre Can To Commit 2 Or More Fouls

Dortmund will almost certainly make a high number of fouls. The German side commits an average of 10.5 fouls per game in Europe, but that average foul count is much higher in their three games against PSG. They have committed 34 fouls against the French side this season at an average of over 11 fouls per game. It is hardly surprising, considering PSG enjoyed around 60% of the ball in those three games.
Dortmund are likely to concede even more fouls as they attempt to stop the Parisiens from breaking through. No player is more likely to commit fouls than Emre Can, who averages 1.6 fouls per game in Europe this season. There is a very good chance that he betters that average.

Borussia Dortmund To Have 5 Or More Shots On Target

Despite only scoring two goals in three games against PSG, Dortmund have caused considerable problems for the French side this season. The German side have attempted at least ten shots in each of their three games and passed up several glorious opportunities last season.

They average over five shots on target per game in Europe and will take heart from the fact that they have scored in each of their last four Champions League away games, including both of their knockout away ties. PSG will leave space for Dortmund to attack and the German side should be able to carry a significant threat on the counter.

Niclas Fullkrug To Have 4 Or More Shots

Niclas Fullkrug’s goal gave Dortmund the lead in the tie last week, but he was also responsible for missing several gilt-edged chances, notable firing over from a Jadon Sancho pullback. Fullkrug averages 2.7 shots per game in Europe this season and had five shots in last week’s first leg.

He is the focal point of the Dortmund attack and is as likely to get his head on the end of a cross as he is to shoot from a pullback from either of Dortmund’s tricky widemen. He will likely get on the end of several chances and he is very good value to try his luck at least four times.

Kylian Mbappe To Have 5 Or More Shots

Kylian Mbappe only attempted three shots last week, including a desperately unlucky effort that came back off the inside of the post. But he is likely to be heavily involved here. Mbappe averages 4.2 shots per game in the Champions League this season, far more than any other PSG player. It is also the third-highest average in the competition this season.

Mbappe attempted five shots when Dortmund came to town in September and could easily match that figure as he attempts to haul PSG back into the tie.
