7.45pm: Genoa v Cagliari

We’re running out of Mondays in the 2023/24 season so let’s make the most of them while we still can. We’ll kick off this Multi Match Bet Builder in Italy for a game that could have big ramifications at the bottom with 14th-placed Cagliari heading to Genoa who sit two places and seven points above them.

Cagliari and Draw Double Chance

The Islanders were four points clear of safety heading into the weekend and they’ve picked up some stonking results of late. In their last three they’ve beaten Atalanta before notching 2-2 draws with champions Inter and then Juventus.

Genoa generally win these matches and a run of five consecutive I Rossoblù victories was halted earlier in the season by a rare Cagliari triumph over in Sardinia. Genoa are not in awful form themselves with just one loss in the last five but, assuming the away side still have the fire in their belly stoked by the threat of relegation, Cagliari Win/Draw Double Chance is short enough but it’s a bet I really like.

Both Teams To Score

Both Teams To Score has been clicking a lot for both recently and it’s a decent price, too. It’s landed in five of the last seven for the hosts with only Juventus and Lazio shutting them out over that period.

Cagliari have gone goal mad of late and BTTS has been paying with abandon when they ply their wares. Both teams have bagged in each of their last four so expect that trend to continue in an entertaining game on Monday night.

8pm: Barcelona v Valencia

TV: Premier Sports 1 and LALIGATV

To Catalonia next where Valencia head up the coast to take on Xavi’s chaps with it recently confirmed that the legendary former midfielder has pulled a U-turn and will be in Barcelona’s dugout next season. The title is gone for Barcelona after a trademark last minute Jude Bellingham winner in El Clasico last weekend and their job is to keep ahead of the mighty Girona for second place while Valencia are scrapping manfully for a European spot and head into the weekend in 8th.

Under 3.5 Goals

This might not be one for the ages, though. The last three meetings between these to have produced just four goals in total with two 1-0 Barcelona wins last season and a 1-1 in December. Barca’s games have had a fair few goals of late but Valencia are dealing almost exclusively in binary code.

Other than a 2-1 reverse at home to Betis last time out, there’s not been more than a solitary goal in any of their previous five games. Under 2.5 Goals is a good play but if Barca look to take out some frustration on their visitors we’ll go a little safer and side with Under 3.5 Goals.

8pm: Preston v Leicester

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

Finally to the good-old Championship where Leicester’s stay in the second tier has been confirmed as a short one. The Foxes were promoted on Friday night after Leeds’ nightmare day out in the capital and the title is surely a mere formality. Preston flirted with the playoffs all season but started the weekend in 10th on the back of three straight losses.

Leicester (-1)

Preston, generally, keep games tight with four of their last five losses coming by just a single goal. However, with Jamie Vardy’s latest party in full swing and Preston having nothing to play for, there’s a chance the wheels come off spectacularly against Ryan Lowe’s side.

A lot depends on which Foxes side turn up but thanks to Ipswich’s draw on Saturday night the title is theirs to wrap up. Either way, Enzo Maresca’s men stormed back to form last time out in the 5-0 dismantling of Southampton and we can expect them to win by two or more here to confirm their status as the best side in the second tier. I fancy Leicester to pass their (-1) handicap.
