QPR v Leeds
Championship match at Loftus Road, London
TV: Sky Sports Football/Main Event, Friday, 8pm

Both Teams to Score

With Leicester just one win away from clinching the Championship title, Leeds must win here to keep the pressure on the Foxes -and more importantly on third-placed Ipswich. QPR, however, aren’t out of the woods yet and need to take at least three points from their remaining two games to be assured of Championship survival.

The home side have scored five and conceded seven over their last five at home, winning two, drawing one, and losing so. Leeds, on the other hand, have scored eight over their last five, as well as 11 over their last five on the road, while conceding eight, winning two, drawing two, and losing one. Leeds should be winning here but their leaky defence means QPR should also be getting on the scoresheet.

Over 9.5 Corners

Ipswich, who are just a point behind Leeds, can still technically land the title too, although they’re more likely focused on pipping the Whites for second position, so the away side have even more added pressure to go for the three points here.

As already mentioned, QPR can’t really afford a loss either so when they do wrestle the ball from Leeds in midfield you’d have to expect them to be pushing forward for a goal too. All this means we should see an open match with plenty of attacks which means loads of corners.

The hosts’ Championship games at Loftus Road average 10.45 corners per game, while the same stat reads as 11.32 for Leeds’ away league fixtures. So, let’s play it a bit safer and back Over 9.5 Corners.

A Goal Scored in Both Halves

Here’s a couple of interesting stats. The average time of a home QPR goal clocks in at 48 minutes, for Leeds, on the road it’s 38 minutes. Add to this the fact that this pick would have landed in all five of Leeds’ most recent away games and with all the added pressure of both sides needing a positive result, A Goal Scored in Both Halves has plenty of value.

Crysencio Summerville Anytime Goalscorer

Crysencio Summerville only contributed four goals over 28 appearances for Leeds in their Premier League relegation season but has been pivotal in Leeds’ title/promotion push this campaign, scoring 19 and assisting nine.

He also averages a monster 3.0 shots per game. He also has three over his last five for Daniel Farke’s side, as well as three over his last five on the road so we’re backing him to rattle the net here.

Ilias Chair to have 1 or more Shots on Target

QPR’s Moroccan winger Ilias Chair hasn’t been as productive for Rangers this season as Summerville has for Leeds but it’s not for the want of trying. He’s scored five and assisted six in the Championship this season but he loves having a pop on goals, averaging 2.6 shots per game. To put that into perspective, Lyndon Dykers is the next highest in the shot count for QPR with just 1.5 shots per game, so we’re backing Ilias Chair to have 1 or more Shots on Target.
