The latest football odds are on PaddyPower.com now7.45pm: Wolves v Bournemouth
There’s three Premier League games on the menu this evening away from the Merseyside derby and we kick off with Bournemouth heading to Wolves. Both have put up a good showing compared to their pre-season expectations but the beach looks to be calling rather loudly for each now.
However, they have to go through the motions at Molineux tonight and neither have won in either of their last three. The Cherries have lost two of the last three while Wolves’ winless run in all competitions goes back six games.
With both in such poor form, and a distinct end-of-season vibe surrounding this match, The Draw might well be the smartest play in this game.
8pm: Crystal Palace v Newcastle
The suddenly-revitalised Crystal Palace welcome Eddie Howe’s walking-wounded to Selhurst Park looking to mathematically confirm their spot in the Premier League for next season. Newcastle also want the points and are still pushing for a European spot and have won three of their last four games.
With Palace clicking in to gear under Oliver Glasner, thanks to a that shock 1-0 win over Liverpool and 5-2 dismantling of West Ham last time out, goals could be the way to go here, especially as Newcastle thumped Tottenham 4-0 at St James’ Park a couple weekends ago.
The away side have been ticking along at a whopping 3.8 goals per game so Over 3.5 Goals should have plenty of appeal. With Palace being realistically safe we can expect them to come out to play in an entertaining match.
8pm: Manchester United v Sheffield United
We finish at Old Trafford where Manchester United look to avoid embarrassing outing against a Championship side, well one in all-but name anyway. Sheffield United have won just three games all season while racking up 23 losses.
While not quite down yet, their only real concern is avoiding being the first side to concede 100 goals in a single Premier League campaign. Those hopes may take a big dent at the hands of United who will be a wounded animal after they avoided losing to Coventry in the FA Cup semi final thanks to the length of Haji Wright’s toe nails.
For all of United’s many foibles they’ve been great fun to watch. In their last eight games in all competitions they’ve seen an amazing 36 goals with a couple of periods of extra time thrown in as well. That’s a combined 4.5 Goals a game in that spell.
Loathe as I am to back The Red Devils in any game at the moment we surely have to be able to rely on them to win this. Indeed it could be another rout for The Blades so Manchester United to Win and Over 3.5 Goals is a nice price.
