I called the correct score in last week’s first tie where it ended 2-1 to Atletico Madrid. Atletico are such a tough side on home soil, you have Diego Simeone moaning on the touchline and the fans are copying him and then they copy each other. It’s so hard for teams to go there and get a result.
However, I see them unraveling away to Dortmund. The hosts won 1-2 away to Monchengladbach over the weekend which is great as they’re only sitting fifth in the Bundesliga so they’re chasing Champions League football for next season. English Premier League fans were hoping that they’d get a fifth Champions League place but it looks like Italy and Germany will take the extra places as it stands.
Atletico beat Girona 3-1 over the weekend who are still ahead of Atletico in the La Liga standings, but they rested a lot of their team for that game so I think Dortmund, playing at home will come out on top here. I’m going with a Dortmund 2-0 win, so I’m backing Dortmund to Win and Both Teams to Score, No.
I’m also backing Niclas Fullkrug to Score and Jadon Sancho, who having a great time since retuning to Dortmund to have 1 or more Shots on Target and Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann to have 1 or more Shots on Target.
