Empoli v Torino
Serie A match at the Stadio Carlo Castellani, Empoli
TV: TNT Sports, Saturday, 7:45pm
Torino to Win
Empoli are now in a dogfight for their Serie A survival. The hosts have now lost four in a row in the league, while on home soil have won one, drawn two, and lost two over their last five, scoring just four goals, albeit three of them were in one match.
Torino are within touching distance of the last European places and have gone undefeated over their last four in the league. On their recent league travels, they’ve won two, drawn two, and lost one, scoring eight goals. They should have more than enough to outscore an Empoli side who are finding it hard to hit barn doors.
PSG v Clermont
Ligue Un match at the Parc des Princes, Paris
TV: TNT Sports, Saturday, 8pm
Kylian Mbappe First Goalscorer
Of course, Kylian Mbappe scored midweek in the Coup against Rennes. PSG’s talisman now has 24 league goals this season, nine in domestic cup competition and six in the Champions League.
Over four previous appearances against Clermont, he’s bagged five goals so we’re backing him to opening the scoring here on Saturday night.
PSG – 1
The Parisians have netted 11 over their last five at home in Ligue Un while the away side have scored a paltry three goals over their last five on their league travels. The home side could run riot here and should at least be winning by two goals.
Sporting v Benfica
Primeira Liga match at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, Lisbon
TV: TrillerTV+, Saturday, 8:30pm
Both Teams to Score
It’s neck and neck at the pinnacle of the Primeira Liga standings between the two Lisbon rivals, with Sporting top on 68 points after 26 games, followed by Benfica on 67 after 27 games. Both teams have lost just one of their last 15 league games so this one should be a humdinger.
On home soil, Sporting have won all 13 of their home league games, scoring a whopping 27 goals over their last five. The away side have won three, drawn one, and lost one over their last five away league encounters, scoring 10 goals. With Both Teams to Score landing in eight of their last nine fixtures against each other in all competitions, we’re backing the trend.
Athletic Bilbao v Mallorca
La Liga match at the Estadio Olimpico de Sevilla, Sevilla
Saturday, 9pm
Athletic Bilbao to Win
Athletic Bilbao’s home league form has seen them lose just once this season, a 0-2 loss to Real Madrid in their first home clash of the campaign back in August. Of their last five at home, they’ve won four and drawn one, scoring 11 and conceding just three.
Mallorca are winless over their last 12 away La Liga matches and have scored just two goals over their last five league excursions. The hosts should be easily out-scoring them so the value is in backing an Athletic Bilbao Win.
