Arsenal (-1)

Arsenal travel to Aston Villa on Sunday evening with the Gunners desperate to bounce back from their disappointing 3-1 defeat at Chelsea last time out. Jonas Eidevall’s side are six points behind Chelsea and Manchester City at the top of the WSL table and they have six games left to close the gap.

Arsenal had won four in a row prior to the Chelsea defeat and they beat Villa 4-0 in the WSL Cup semi-final earlier this month. Villa have won two of their last three in the league to climb up to seventh in the table, however, Carla Ward’s side have been hit and miss this season.

Arsenal should have far too much quality for Villa on Sunday but it’s not worth backing them to win at the odds. Instead, we’ll side with Arsenal (-1) in the Handicap market, which has landed in five of their last six wins in all competitions.

Both Teams to Score

Although we’re on an Arsenal win, we also like the look of Both Teams to Score. The selection has landed in Villa’s last five WSL games and we’re expecting that trend to continue at Villa Park.

Arsenal will definitely get on the scoresheet so this pick is solely based on Villa netting. They’ve scored in seven of their last eight games in all competitions so the statistics are in our favour.

Alessia Russo to Score Anytime

We’re expecting Arsenal to net a few times so we’re chucking in Alessia Russo to Score Anytime. She was benched for the Chelsea loss but she should return to Eidevall’s starting line up. Russo has netted six times this season and she’s scored in her last two starts for the Gunners.

The England forward is shoot on sight and her shot tally for her last six games reads: 3, 5, 7, 1, 3, 6. It’s worth backing Russo to get on the scoresheet.

6 Or More Arsenal Corners

Arsenal will be attacking for most of the match and that will lead to them having plenty of corners. The Gunners get an average of 8.4 corners per game in the WSL, with their matches averaging 10.3 corners. We’re backing 6 Or More Arsenal Corners, which is below their average, just in cast it takes Eidevall’s side a little while to get going.
