Freiburg v Bayern Munich
Bundesliga match at Europa-Park Stadion, Freiburg
TV: Sky Sports Football YouTube, 7:30pm
Bayern Munich to Win
Bayern Munich ended their February wobble with a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig to keep Bayer Leverkusen in range in the Bundesliga title race. Xabi Alonso’s side still have an eight-point lead at the top of the table but Thomas Tuchel will hope to chase him down before departing in the summer.
Bayern won 3-0 away at Freiburg earlier this season, and have won their last five league clashes against a team comfortably set in mid-table as the campaign run-in steps up.
A positive result in this game will also tee Bayern Munich up for their crunch midweek Champions League home tie with Lazio as the Serie A side bring a 1-0 last 16 first leg lead to the Allianz Arena.
Harry Kane to Score
Victory over RB Leipzig also saw Harry Kane amongst the goals again with a Bavarian brace, and the England captain has bagged five goals in his last five Bundesliga appearances.
Kane has already scored 27 league goals this season, and he is on course to break his previous career league tally, after netting 30 Premier League goals for Tottenham in 2018 and 2023.
Lazio v AC Milan
Serie A match at Stadio Olimpico, Rome
TV: TNT Sports 1, 7:45pm
Over 2.5 goals
AC Milan’s city rivals Inter Milan look to be marching away with the Serie A title as Stefano Pioli focuses on securing a Champions League spot at the end of the campaign. Lazio’s chances of a European place remain in doubt ahead of facing Bayern Munich in this season’s Champions League.
Despite the potential of key European games on the horizon, this clash should see some Friday night goals. Four of Lazio’s last five league games have featured over 2.5 goals scored in total and Milan have scored in every away league game so far this season.
Monaco v PSG
Ligue 1 match at the Stade Louis II, Monaco
TV: TNT Sports 2, 8:00pm
Both teams to score
A grumpy Luis Enrique told his PSG players to get used to playing without Kylian Mbappe after last weekend’s 1-1 home draw with Rennes and his talisman’s farewell tour continues with a trip to his old team AS Monaco on Friday night.
PSG are cruising to the Ligue 1 title, but they have made heavy work of it in recent weeks, with some late wins and points dropped against Rennes. Monaco are battling for a Champions League spot and they have a very strong home record against PSG.
Three successive home wins over the Parisians will give Monaco confidence of disrupting the runaway leaders but Enrique’s team have not failed to score in their last 26 matches across all competitions.
Celta Vigo v Almeria
La Liga match at the Estadio Balaidos, Vigo
TV: La Liga TV, 8pm
Draw
A Friday night relegation battle in Vigo could have a key impact on the fight for La Liga survival this season as Rafa Benitez’s Celta host rock bottom Almeria. As expected, neither side head into this in great form, with Celta winning just two of their league games in 2024, and Almeria holding the wild record of failing to win any of their 26 league ties since the start of the campaign.
Despite knowing their fate is likely sealed, Almeria have made life very difficult for teams recently, with three successive draws, and Benitez is winless in his last three.
