    Motherwell +2

Celtic rightly start their Premiership match against Motherwell as hot favourites to get the win, and while the Hoops may well claim three points, they do not justify their price based upon recent form. Indeed, the value is on the Steelmen in the handicap market.

The Well, after all, have lost only one of their last seven in the league. They’ve also shown a capability to keep matches against the Glasgow giants close this season. They have twice lost to Celtic by just a single goal, and though they were defeated by Rangers 0-2 at home in December, the Ibrox club are in far better form than their great rivals at this juncture.

Indeed, Celtic come into this match under pressure and, with a midweek match against Dundee looming on Wednesday, will just want any type of victory to get back on track.

Celtic have drawn two of their last three, while they have won only one of their last six in the Premiership by more than a single goal.

    (+2)

      Over 2.5 Goals

Motherwell’s home matches this season have produced an incredible 46 goals, averaging well over three per game. While Celtic’s fixtures lately have typically been tighter affairs, three of their last four have been under 2.5 goals, but Motherwell’s tendency to both score and concede in matches means that the likelihood of at least three goals is high.

Six of the last seven between these clubs at Fir Park have produced at least three goals, including the meeting earlier this season, which was marked by stoppage-time drama as Motherwell equalised after 90 minutes but then somehow conceded to suffer a 2-1 defeat.

      Theo Bair to Score

Given Celtic’s recent toils in front of goal, with no one player standing out as good value, it’s worth looking to Motherwell for value in the goalscorer market.

Bair has come from nowhere to become the Premiership’s form striker along with Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland. He has scored eight goals in the last seven games and last weekend he was shut out for the first time in six.

The odds for him to find the net at any time in this game look generous, especially given Celtic have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three, and without the pace of Cameron Carter-Vickers, they could be exposed by the speed of Bair on the break.

Celtic to have 8 or more Corners

Celtic may not be scoring often, but they are dominating matches and winning plenty of corners. Although they have been notoriously bad this season when they have had these situations, rarely profiting from their flag kicks despite winning more than any other team in the league, they continue to win them in incredible volumes.

Brendan Rodgers has seen his side average more than nine corners per match in each away fixture they have played this season, while Motherwell are conceding nearly 6 per game on average.

Expect the Hoops to exert enough pressure to win at least eight corners in this encounter after winning 13 in the last meeting between the clubs.

Motherwell to Receive the Most Cards

These two clubs are at completely opposite ends of the disciplinary spectrum in the Premiership this season. Celtic have seen only 34 cards of all colours (33 yellows and one red), which puts them second in the standings behind Rangers.

On the other hand, Motherwell have easily seen more cards than any other club. The Steelmen have lived up to their name so far by receiving 68 cards, exactly twice as many as their visitors on Sunday.

In the previous meetings between the clubs, Motherwell have received more bookings, 3-1 in the home match and 1-4 when away. Expect this trend to continue.
