I think this will come down to Liverpool attacking and Chelsea sitting back, trying to hit them on the break. Chelsea have started to play better, they’re still not convincing as we know. The change that Mauricio Pochettino made at half-time against Crystal Palace has kicked them on a little bit.

Nicolas Jackson was playing out on the left but he’s back through the middle which is where he’s best. He’s quick on the break and I think Raheem Sterling has to play as well because of his pace. I just look at Chelsea and I’m not certain about them defensively.

The thing with Liverpool is that I’m not sure who they’re going to play. Jurgen Klopp got a side out in midweek against Luton and they were poor first half. They got it together in the second half but I’ll go for Liverpool to win it in the 90 minutes but they’re always tight these cup finals. A team like Chelsea can play for a draw, even after extra time, they might think that’s their best chance of winning.

Chelsea will be feeling better, they’ll have a little bit of confidence, but in fairness to Liverpool they’ve just got goals from all over the place. I hope Darwin Nunez is fit because he’ll love the big, open spaces at Wembley and that goal against Brentford last week was something else.

Even if there are people missing for Liverpool you just know it will still be a really strong side, they’ve got great depth. I always fancy Liverpool because they can get a goal from nothing and I don’t think Chelsea can so I fancy 2-0 to Liverpool.

Liverpool thumped Chelsea 4-1 under a month ago but this will be a lot tighter than that as it’s the final. Chelsea were all over the place that night, they were awful, but it’s been the catalyst for them to have some better results so I think they’ll put up more of a fight this time for sure I just can’t see them scoring.

Pochettino and Klopp

Their shape looks better, they’ve now got a way of playing, and Pochettino probably knows his best team now. They’ve not got too many injuries and I think the biggest decision is whether he play three or four at the back.

While I fancy a Liverpool clean sheet I’d say Sterling is the main danger for Chelsea. He looks like he’s got some verve back in his play and he’s lightening quick. He’ll be coming up against one of his old teams so he’ll be up for it.

Mo Salah’s still the main man for Liverpool but Nunez will play through the middle if available. I think Salah was just rested against Luton on Wednesday. Nunez is a wildcard, he’s so unpredictable, but Salah’s the main man and he loves the big stage.
