Roma v Feyenoord
Europa League match at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome
TV: TNT Sports, Thursday, 8pm
Over 2.5 Goals
Since taking over from Jose Mourinho just over a month ago, Daniele De Rossi’s Roma have lost just one of their six competitive matches and that was against Serie A leaders Inter so we can’t be too harsh. Over those six games, they’ve scored 14 goals so you’d have to expect they’d get at least one, or two here.
Feyenoord haven’t tasted defeat over their last 11 fixtures in all competitions, while on their recent travels have won four and lost one, scoring 12 times. We reckon goals are on the menu in Rome tonight, particularly as the first leg ended 1-1.
Romelu Lukaku to Score
Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has scored nine over 22 Serie A appearances this season, as well as one in the Coppa Italia. He’s been on fire in Europe though, netting six in seven appearances. He was rested for the first half of last weekend’s win away to Frosinone so we expect him to come out all guns a-blazing and he should be getting on the scoresheet.
Marseille v Shakhtar Donetsk
Europa League match at the Stade Velodrome, Marseille
TV: TNT Sports, Thursday, 8pm
Over 2.5 Goals
Last week’s 2-2 saw two of the four goals came after the 90-minute mark. We wouldn’t be too surprised if we see a few more goals here too. Marseille have scored nine over their last five at home while the Ukrainian side scored a rather healthy seven goals over their three away games in the Champions League group stage. It’s evenly poised then at 2-2 and both sides will be going for it, so we’re backing seeing at least three goals.
Sparta Prague v Galatasaray
Europa League match at the Epet Arena, Prague
TV: TNT Sports, Thursday, 8pm
Both Teams to Score
Sparta Prague gave it their all in last week’s 2-3 defeat in Istanbul and went down to a late Mauro Icardi goal for the Turkish side. At home, the Czechs have scored 11 over their last five and seven over their last four home European games.
Galatasaray have been in great goal-scoring form, netting 11 over their last five on their travels and 12 over their last six away European games. Both Teams to Score has the value here.
Eintracht Frankfurt v Union St Gilloise
Europa Conference League match at the Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt am Main
TV: TNT Sports, Thursday, 8pm
Eintracht Frankfurt to Win
Eintracht Frankfurt’s latest results mightn’t fill you with confidence, they’ve won just one of their last five fixtures, drawing three, and losing one but they’ve won three and drawn one of their last four on home soil, including a 5-1 rout against Bayern Munich.
Union St Gilloise did beat Liverpool 2-1 in their final Europa League group match but it was very much a third-string Liverpool side who were already qualified. Of their four away European games this campaign they only won one, losing the other three and failing to score a goal over those three matches. We’re backing Eintracht Frankfurt to Win.
