Chelsea did Liverpool a favour on Saturday last, stopping Manchester City’s run. They’d had 11 wins on the trot coming into the game and we were all expecting City to win but Chelsea, playing very well, stopped that.
City are unbeaten in 34 games at home in all competitions, they are just so superior when playing on home soil. Yes, Chelsea did well but can Brentford do it as well? Probably not.
City have also scored in 53 consecutive games at the Etihad across all competitions, which is quite astonishing.
Brentford though have lost 10 of their last 13 Premier League games and they’ve only won two of their last 10. Ivan Toney though has scored four in his last five since returning for the Bees, so, while I think Brentford will be getting a goal in this one, I can see City winning 4-1. I’m backing City -2.
I’m also backing Erling Haaland to get back on the scoresheet and for Phil Foden to score as well and with the 4-1 scoreline, I’m backing Both Teams to Score too.
