Tuesday’s Football Acca Tips

7:45pm – Birmingham v Blackburn – Both Teams to Score
7:45m – Leicester v Sheffield Wednesday – Leicester to Score in Both Halves
7:45m – Rotherham v Hull – Both Teams to Score
7:45m – Swansea v Leeds – Crysencio Summerville to Score
8pm – West Brom v Cardiff – West Brom to Win

Birmingham v Blackburn – Both Teams to Score

John Eustace returns to Birmingham with his new Blackburn side in high spirits after playing a part in overseeing their much-needed weekend victory at home to Stoke. A higher tempo style of play has been introduced compared to the more patient possession-based style of Jon Dahl Tomasson, so Rovers should be a good watch in the coming weeks.

It is three losses in a row for Birmingham without scoring, and that clearly has to change in their battle against relegation. Tony Mowbray will demand a reaction here, as will an expectant home crowd. Only five of their home league encounters have failed to score both teams score, whilst BTTS has also obliged in 67% of Blackburn’s Championship battles this season.

Leicester v Sheffield Wednesday – Leicester to Score in Both Halves

Leicester got the job done at Watford on Saturday, recording a 24th league victory out of a possible 31. Enzo Maresca is not a manager to allow his players to take the foot off the gas and he’ll demand a fifth victory in succession. They’ve netted a goal in both halves on 15 occasions this season, more than anyone else in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday got a vital three points over Birmingham on Friday and for all that they’re battling against relegation, the pressure will be off travelling to the runaway league leaders. They may already have an eye on the trip to Millwall on Saturday, a more realistic assignment for The Owls.

This should be attack against defence for long periods and it is hard to make a case for Leicester going two full 45 minutes without scoring given their offensive quality.

Rotherham v Hull – Both Teams to Score

With back-to-back home games coming up, it really is now or never for Rotherham if they’re to mount a serious push to avoid relegation. For all that, they are winless in seven, only Saturday’s expected loss at in-form Leeds was the only real drubbing they’ve received in that time. They’ve failed to score in just three home league fixtures all season, so Hull may not have it all their own way here.

Hull themselves have found the back of the net in all bar two of their Championship away meetings all season, and they’ll be keen to bounce back after a surprising home setback to Swansea. They’ve shipped an average of two goals per away game across their previous eight on their travels, so there is a defensive vulnerability on the road that affords Rotherham some hope.

Swansea v Leeds – Crysencio Summerville To Score

After a run of just one goal in seven appearances, Crysencio Summerville is now making up for lost time having recorded three goals in his last two. Leeds are enjoying a six-game winning streak in the league and they need to maintain this kind of faultless form given Southampton’s impressive club record run, which has seen The Saints jump into second place.

The Dutch left winger could have an enjoyable night in South Wales knowing Swansea are without right backs Harrison Ashby and Josh Key, meaning 35-year-old Kyle Naughton has filled the void. However, he went off injured at the weekend. They’ll be heavily weakened in this area, and Summerville should make the most of it.

West Brom v Cardiff – West Brom to Win

West Brom have been a little consistent in recent times with three wins, three defeats, and a draw across their last seven. However, they can normally be relied upon getting results at The Hawthorns, with only Wolves defeating them here since before Christmas.

A trip to a side sitting 5th in the table could be asking too much of a Cardiff side with a dreadful record against the top sides in the Championship. Erol Bulut’s team are winless in seven meetings against top-five clubs this season, losing six. They will also be missing key forward Karlan Grant, who is ineligible to feature against his parent club.
