West Brom vs Wolves
FA Cup match at The Hawthorns, Birmingham
TV: ITV 1, 11:45am
The FA Cup Fourth Round has thrown up a huge derby between West Brom and Wolves on Sunday. It’s an early start at 11:45am and there’s no love lost between these two Midlands clubs. Wolves are safely mid-table in the Premier League right now, while the home side are in the Championship’s playoff positions and dreaming of a return to the top flight.
Wolves to Win
It’s always hard to pick a winner in derbies but Wolves really should win this and at odds of just over Evens it’s the smart bet. It goes without saying that they’re the better team given that Wolves are in the Premier League but it’s been the manner of their performances that have really impressed this season.
They’ve won three of their past four, picking up nine points in that time. They came into the weekend 11th in the Premier League table and you have to say they’ve been unlucky this season, with some decisions, like Andre Onana not giving up a penalty, have gone against them this year. They’re the superior team and they should win here.
Both Teams to score, No
We’re not backing both teams to score and I’m confident that we’ll see Wolves pick up a clean sheet. They have been defensively sound this year, giving up just 31 goals in the league this year and only six teams have conceded fewer goals.
West Brom have also scored just 40 goals this year, that’s less than all but one team in the top 10 of the Championship and firepower seems to be an issue and one that will stop them from scoring against their hated rivals here.

Over 4.5 Cards
This game means a lot to both sets of fans and the players are well aware of that. The game has been moved to 11:45am but that won’t be enough to stop what is going to be a very hostile atmosphere.
With this being a one-off cup game , it’s going to make every tackle even more important and I expect to see tempers boiling over here. The line for cards is at 4.5 and I’m expecting the over to land in a fiesty game.
Kyle Bartley to Commit 1 or more Fouls
West Brom’s Kyle Bartley has only averaged 0.7 fouls per game in the Championship this season but despite the quality in that division, this will be a step up. Wolves are a very good team and Bartley will struggle against a forward like Matheus Cunha, who might not be the most prolific but he works hard and can be physical.
With the opposition and sense of occasion, I see Bartley being the most likely player in the West Brom lineup to give up a foul.
Kyle Bartley to be Shown a Card
We’re doubling down on West Brom defender Kyle Bartley. The 32-year-old has been a booking magnet this season, picking up seven yellows in 23 games, three of which were from the bench.
He leads his team in bookings this season and as mentioned above, with the occasion and the opposition, there’s a very good chance that he adds to his growing collection of cards.
