Lawro’s Premier League predictions
Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace
Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest
Sheffield United 1-1 West Ham
Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool
Brighton 2-0 Wolves
It’s almost the end of the Premier League’s winter break and we’ve got five games on the menu again this weekend and all of them are on the box.
Our game-guessing guru Mark Lawrenson isn’t deterred by a lack of games and he’s regaled us with this views from Saturday afternoon right through until Monday evening. Take it away, Lawro!

Saturday 12.30pm: Arsenal v Crystal Palace
TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate
I’m going to go for Arsenal to win. I know they need a striker but they’ve just got to get back to winning ways and basically just get on with it. Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace.
Saturday 5.30pm: Brentford v Nottingham Forest
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Ivan Toney’s available and he’s fit, but do you throw him in or stick him on the bench? Just the fact that he’s there will make a difference to them. They’ve had a bad patch, Brentford, but there have been no murmurings that Thomas Frank is under pressure. Nuno Espírito Santo’s done well since he’s come in at Nottingham forest but I’m going for a home win. Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest.
Sunday 2pm: Sheffield United v West Ham
TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate
West Ham are missing a few players so I think I’ll go for a low-scoring draw. David Moyes would probably take that right now, a point away from home. Sheffield United are doing better but I’m not sure they’ve got enough to stay up and they’ve not bought in anyone of note. Sheffield United 1-1 West Ham.
Sunday 4.30pm: Bournemouth v Liverpool
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Liverpool are up and running now, I think this will be a big away win. They were 1-0 down against Fulham in their last game, they made substitutions in the front line at half time and completely changed the game. Yes they’ve got players missing, but I’m expecting this to be routine. Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool.
Monday 7.45pm: Brighton v Wolves
TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate
Wolves have done well and they’re set up to take on West Brom in a Black Country derby in the FA Cup. I will go for Brighton though. I can’t remember the last time they played so they should be rested and ready. Every time I turn on Sky Sports they’re all off in Dubai or somewhere on warm-weather training. I would have loved that in my day! Brighton 2-0 Wolves.
