    Blackpool vs Nottingham Forest
FA Cup match at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool, Wednesday, 7:45pm
    TV: ITV4

The FA Cup replays continue on Wednesday with Blackpool welcoming Nottingham Forest to Bloomfield Road after a 2-2 draw at The City Ground. Will the League One club be able to pull off a giant killing or will Forest seal a spot in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup?

    Nottingham Forest to Win

When these two clubs met a week and a half ago it looked like we were on for a classic FA Cup upset. The visitors Blackpool raced into a two-goal lead by halftime, thanks to two goals in three minutes. However, Nottingham Forest piled on the pressure and managed to get level although they were unable to take that extra step and win the game.

Forest dominated the game with 72% possession and outshot Blackpool by 17 shots to three, and the two Blackpool goals were their only shots on target. I think we’ll see Forest come into this one ready to compete from the first minute and they won’t start as slowly as they did in the first game.

After a tough week that has seen them charged with financial breaches, we’re set to see a galvanized team that will be ready to work hard and win.

    Halftime Draw

Although I think we’re going to see Forest win the game I’m expecting it to be level at halftime. Blackpool will be buoyed by the home support with a packed-out Bloomfield Road cheering them on against the Premier League club.

Since Nuno Espirito Santo took charge at Forest, they’ve been level at halftime in two of their three games, with the only exception being that awful start against Blackpool. They won’t be so defensively naïve early again but I think they’ll struggle to break down a Blackpool team who are playing conservatively. In Nuno’s three games in charge we’ve seen just two first-half goals for the team but five in the second half.

        Under 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 goals is a very short price here, most notably because of the perceived mismatch in quality given the two divisions between the two clubs, and the fact that all three games under the new manager have seen three or more goals.

However, if we look further back through Nuno’s career in the Premier League the reality is that he’s a defence-first, pragmatic manager. I don’t think that’s changed during his time out of the English game and despite being the better team here, he will make sure his team focuses on being defensively sound and then build from there. Under 2.5 Goals is a big price, so we’re taking that.

        Both Teams to Score, No

Blackpool scored twice in the first game but I think Forest were naïve coming into that one and they won’t make that same mistake again. As mentioned above, I think we’re likely to see Nuno do what he does best and that is to make his team hard to beat.

Forest have some strong defensive players and I expect the away side to play their best players here after what was an embarrassing result in the first match. They won’t concede to Blackpool who’ll struggle to break them down.

        Morgan Gibbs-White to Score

Make no mistake Morgan Gibbs-White is the best player in the Forest squad. It’s only a matter of time until the 23-year-old makes his senior England bow. He’s benefitted hugely from the arrival of Nuno, his former manager at Wolves.

He has moved Gibbs-White from out wide to a more central position and he’s repaid his manager with some superb performances. In the three games since Nuno came in and he saw his position tweaked he’s scored twice and been the best player on the pitch in every single game.

He scored against Man Utd as well as the equaliser against Blackpool in the first game. I think we’re likely to see him continue to get in dangerous positions and shoot against a Blackpool team who are several rungs below Forest in terms of quality.
