    Everton v Aston Villa
Premier League match at Goodison Park, 2pm

Sunday serves us up two Premier League games, the first of which Everton vs Aston Villa should be a real cracker. Everton need to start picking up points, they’ve been impressive at times this season but three Premier League defeats in a row is pulling them towards the relegation zone. Meanwhile Aston Villa need to continue their excellent performances to maintain hope of being in an unexpected Premier League title race.

    Aston Villa to win

As much as I have been so impressed with Everton this season they do come into this in poor form. They’ve lost there games on the spin in the Premier and if you consider the cup games their last win was six games ago in mid December when they beat Burnley. Thanks to their 10-point deduction and recent defeats they are now worryingly close to relegation. They’re too good to get caught up in it for long but I can’t see them turning the page on Sunday.

This is an Aston Villa who are coming into this game second in the Premier League and performing at a really high level. Unai Emery has been brilliant in turning this team into a genuine Premier League contender. They’re too good in nearly every facet of the game and should win here.

    Both teams to score

Now as much as I have confidence in Aston Villa winning, I do think we’ll see a good performance from Everton. Two of their three last Premier League defeats were against Man City and Spurs, two of the better teams in the league with Wolves being the only loss that Sean Dyche wouldn’t have expected.

Everton, unlike last season, are more than capable of scoring goals. They’ve bagged at least one goal in six of their last seven Premier League games and I fancy them to get on the scoresheet against Villa, especially with that loud Goodison Park crowd roaring them on.

Ollie Watkins to score or assist

There have been a number of players who has really shone for Villa this season but you’d have to put Ollie Watkins top of the pile. The 28-year old has continued developing his game and under Emery has now become one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

In 20 Premier League games he’s found the back of the net nine times and assisted another eight more goals. He’s averaging 2.8 shots per game and he’s the man most likely to be involved in a goal on Sunday, with his movement and positioning likely to cause Everton headaches.

Amadou Onana to commit 2 or more fouls

There have been a few Everton players who have played well this season but it’s clear that Amadou Onana is the best player in their squad and has been since arriving from Lille. He’s tough tackling, athletic and can dominate using either his brawn or his footballing IQ.

He’s going to be without regular midfield partner Abdoulaye Doucoure on Sunday which might mean he has to do more work, with James Garner not quite at that same level. Onana has averaged 1.6 fouls per game for Everton this season and I think against a midfield of the calibre of Aston Villa we are likely to see him commit at least two fouls.

Amadou Onana to be fouled 2 or more times

As well as commiting fouls we’ve also see Onana get fouled a lot too. He’s been taken down more than anybody else in the Everton squad, at an average of 1.8 fouls against per game. His ability to drive forward with the ball often means he gets taken out, and his freakish ability to win 50/50 balls also sees him get fouled often.

We’re going to take Onana to get fouled two or more times here. I’m expecting him to take on even more responsibility to get forward with Doucoure missing, with the team needing to replace his six goals and one assist.
