    Man United v Spurs

    Premier League, Sunday, 4:30pm
    TV: Sky Sports Main Event

It feels like this United team keeps doing just enough to keep the manager’s job. Every few weeks it’s “oh, if he loses this one, he’s gone”, and then they get a result and it’s forgotten for a week until the next bad result.

Some of their key players are letting Erik ten Hag down.

Rasmus Hojlund’s getting himself in good positions and missing. I agreed with Roy Keane when he said he’s got to finish those chances against Wigan.

Obviously he’s young and having a tough time of it. I went through a similar spell at Liverpool, and it comes down to strength of character to get through those times.

He’s got goals in Europe, and I think he will come good for Untied, but with the big price tag, you’re under a lot of pressure – for a club like Man United to hang their hat on a 20-year-old feels less than ideal.

When they did it with the likes of Wayne Rooney they still had Ruud van Nistelrooy at the club – it wasn’t all on the teenager then.

One of the most frustrating things to watch as well this season has been Marcus Rashford – a player with this immense talent and it doesn’t seem to be working out for him. The way he seems to be strolling about in games, something doesn’t seem to be right. You couldn’t say he looks like a happy player at the moment, but he doesn’t help with the way he carries himself sometimes.

And if a new manager comes in you could see him go and score another 30 goals like last season.

These goal scoring struggles just underline how ridiculous it was that United didn’t just break the bank for Harry Kane. United was the only club in England he could go really and they didn’t pursue it.

They’re up against his old side Spurs on Sunday, who are working in a new forward of their own in Timo Werner.

He’s another confidence player, but I think he does suit Tottenham and the way they can break fast on teams. That’s where he’s at his best.

Son is away too , so he’s a good replacement while their captain’s playing at the Asian Cup. You just want him to hit the ground running as it’s midseason and this period without Son will be crucial to their season.

Micky Van de Ven was a class act before he got hurt and he looks like he’ll be back in the squad at Old Trafford. They still have to play without James Maddison, but when they get these lads back I think they can go on a good run. They were playing with so much confidence earlier in the season and I can see that returning when everyone is healthy.

    Match Odds: Spurs to Win

Even without Son, this fixture is known for goals – it’s among the games with the most goals ever in Premier League history – and I expect a few more on Sunday.

And the way both sides are playing, I have to fancy the visitor’s to get the result they want and come away with all three points.

Rasmus Hojlund to Have 1+ Shots on Target

Like I said, he’s getting in good positions. He needs a few to go in to build up that confidence and they should start flowing then.

You’d expect him to get an effort on target at least against Spurs.

Richarlison to Have 1+ Shots on Target

From a Spurs perspective, it’d be great to see Werner get of the mark on Sunday, and with Son Heung-Min unavailable, he could be straight into the team.

Richarlison will be a big focal point too in the coming weeks and should be good for a shot on target as well.

Scott McTominay to be Shown a Card

This is a pressure game for United with the way their results have been this season, and pressure leads to mistakes and cards. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few.

Scott McTominay will probably make an appearance in the midfield and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up in the ref’s notebook by the end of the game.

      Richarlison to Commit 1+ Fouls

The Brazilian forward is a wind-up merchant and will want to get under the skin of United’s defenders, so I can see him giving up at least one foul, maybe more.
