Middlesbrough v Chelsea

Middlesbrough have been on the wrong side of two defeats of late and manager Michael Carrick will be demanding a response from ‘Boro when they host Chelsea in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
Their home form isn’t great either with just one win over their last five, losing the other four but with the Lions keeping just two clean sheets over their last 12 games they’ll be confident of scoring while the away side themselves have hit 11 over their last five so should certainly be scoring.
Chelsea to Win
Their superior goal-scoring record means we have to back the away side, they’ve won three of their last five, drawing one, winning it on penalties and, losing one. Away from home, things aren’t good for Mauricio Pochettino’s side but their last three wins against Crystal Palace and, most recently their 4-0 thrashing of Preston should see Chelsea over the line.

Fiorentina v Bologna

Fiorentina’s recent form has seen them winning three, drawing one and losing one while at home have won four and drawn one, winning it on penalties. They’ve scored nine over those five and conceded just three.
Bologna are flying high this season and are just a point behind Fiorentina in fifth in the Serie A table. This is, of course, a cup game but the away side have scored nine over their last seven away games so Both Teams to Score looks to have some pretty decent value.
Fiorentina to Win
It’s La Viola’s home form however that we’re finding it tough to argue against. As mentioned above, Vincenzo Italiano’s side have won four of their last five on home turf and with Bologna only winning one of their last five on their travels, we’re backing Fiorentina to Win.
Estoril v Porto
Taca de Portugal match at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota, Estoril, 8:45pm
Over 2.5 Goals
Porto obviously come into this game as odds-on favourites but Estoril will be forgiven for sniffing some blood here. Both teams have won three, drawn one, and lost one of their last five but it’s their home v away form that very much contrasts.
The hosts have won five on the bounce on home turf, scoring a very healthy 17 goals while Sergio Conceicao’s side have won just one of their last on their travels, drawing one and scoring six. With both teams in good goal-scoring form, we should see Over 2.5 Goals at the very least.
