Juventus v Salernitana

  • Allianz Stadium, Torino, 8pm (TV: Viaplay)

Both Teams to Score, No

Juventus are quite obviously odds-on to advance past Salernitana in their Thursday night Coppa Italia clash. The Old Lady are in great form, they’ve not lost any of their last 13 matches, winning 10 and drawing three, and have kept three clean sheets over their last five on home soil.

Salernitana have won just one of their last five away games, drawing one and losing three, scoring four goals but failed to score in two of those games. If Juve can keep Roma and Napoli scoreless of late, they can certainly repeat that against the site who are bottom of the Serie A standings.

    Juventus Half Time

The away side have conceded four first-half goals over their last five away games and five over their last five overall matches. Filippo Inzaghi’s side are fighting for survival and could do without the distraction of a cup run where they’d doubtlessly just be dumped out later anyway.

The hosts, in such good form, will want to put this game to bed as quickly as possible. We’re backing them to be ahead at half-time.

        Las Palmas v Barcelona

        • Estadio de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 8:30pm (TV: Viaplay)

        Both Teams to Score

Las Palmas are in decent La Liga form, they’re ninth in the La Liga standings and have won two, drawn one, and lost two over their last five fixtures. At home, things are better with three wins, one draw, and one loss, scoring seven and conceding four.

Barcelona’s results haven’t been great for a team of their ability, they’ve won two, drawn two, and lost one over their last five in the league while on their travels have won one and drawn four, scoring seven and conceding six, so we’re backing Both Teams to Score first off.

          Over 9.5 Corners

Both sides have been averaging over five corners per game over their respective La Liga games this season. The Catalans are going to need to go for it here as anything less than three points are likely to see them losing ground on Atletico Madrid above them.

The hosts though have little to fear, they’re in good form at home and can afford to throw the proverbial to the wind, especially with the away side conceding so many on the road. We should see a good old, end-to-end here meaning shots and goalmouth scrambles which means plenty of corners.

            Barcelona to Win

Despite their good home form, Las Palmas haven’t played too many top-half sides. They did beat Atletico however but it’s Barcelona’s superior goal-scoring record of late that’s swinging us.

The Catalans have scored eight over their last five and seven over their last five on their Spanish excursions and we can see them outsourcing their island hosts, so we’re backing Barcelona to Win.
