    Over 2.5 Goals

Brighton have been the most entertaining team in the Premier League this season in terms of goals. There have been a whopping 71 goals scored in Brighton’s 19 league games to date this season, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side scoring 38 and conceding 33. No Premier League team has been involved in more goals.

Brighton are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season and have drawn a blank only once, in a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal before Christmas.

West Ham, meanwhile, come into this game on the back of successive 2-0 victories over Arsenal and Manchester United but will struggle to make it three clean sheets in a row against this Brighton attack.

The Hammers won the reverse fixture 3-1 back in August and it would be a huge surprise if Tuesday’s game wasn’t a similarly high-scoring affair.

Brighton to have 6 or more Shots on Target

Brighton’s 38 goals is the fifth-highest tally in the league this season, but they rank second in the division in terms of shots on target. De Zerbi’s side average 6.3 shots on target per game, a record only bettered by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Seagulls have registered 43 shots on target in their last six league games and are likely to register at least six against West Ham on Tuesday night.

The Hammers conceded 10 shots on target in their smash-and-grab victory at the AmEx at the start of the season and have faced the third-most shots in the league this season. David Moyes’ side are happy to soak up opposition pressure and will have a lot of it to soak up on Tuesday night.

Brighton are good value to register at least half a dozen efforts on target.

        Over 4.5 Cards

Neither West Ham nor Brighton have been particularly well-disciplined this season. Brighton are currently fourth-bottom in the league’s disciplinary table, receiving 51 yellow cards and two red cards in their 19 games to date.

The Hammers boast a much better disciplinary record than their opponents but still average well above two cards per game, receiving 43 bookings and one sending off so far this season.

With referees now punishing dissent and time-wasting far more frequently than past seasons, the average number of cards issued per game has skyrocketed, jumping from 3.7 cards per game last season to 4.5 cards per game this season.

It is almost always a wise bet to back five cards or more and Tuesday’s game is no exception.

Jan Paul Van Hecke to Attempt 90 or more Passes

West Ham enjoyed an astonishing 22% possession in their 3-1 victory over Brighton earlier in the season and Moyes’ side are likely to employ similar counter-attacking tactics on Tuesday night.

They may not reach the lofty heights of 78% of the ball, but Brighton are almost certainly going to enjoy the lion’s share of possession. De Zerbi’s side boast the second-highest possession averages in the league this season, averaging 61% possession per game.

West Ham, on the other hand, boast the fifth-lowest possession averages, averaging just over 40% possession. It is not beyond reason that Brighton will enjoy at least 70% of the ball on Tuesday, making it highly likely that Jan Paul Van Hecke will attempt 90 or more passes.

The Dutch defender completes an average of 84 passes per game in the league this season – the fourth-highest in the division – and boasts a completion rate of 94%, meaning he attempts about 90 passes in an average match. However, Brighton’s possession statistics are likely to be even more lopsided than usual on Tuesday night, making it highly likely that he will reach that figure.

        Brighton, Corner Match Bet

West Ham do not win a lot of corners for a team with James Ward Prowse in their ranks. The Hammers have won 89 corners in 19 games this season – the fourth-lowest in the division. Only Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Sheffield United have won fewer corners than the Hammers this season.

It is not surprising, considering they rank so low in terms of average possession. They also rank fifth-lowest in the league in terms of shots per game and seventh-lowest in terms of shots on target per game.

Playing against a side that will dominate possession and territory while peppering their goal with shots, the Hammers are highly unlikely to win more corners on Tuesday evening.
