Valencia v Barcelona Bet Builder Tips

Both Teams to Score
Hugo Duro to have 1 or more Shots on Target
Ilkay Gundogan to have 1 or more Shots on Target
Over 4.5 Barcelona Corners
Pepelu to Commit 2 or more Fouls

    Valencia v Barcelona
La Liga match at Estadio de Mestalla, Valencia
    Saturday 8pm
    TV: Viaplay

    Both Teams to Score

Valencia have a pretty decent home record against Barcelona on home soil. Los Murcielagos have won one, drawn two and lost three of their last six at home to the Catalans in La Liga, scoring seven and conceding 10.

Their home league form of late is good too, winning three, drawing one and losing one of their last five, scoring six and conceding just one. Barca have won two and drawn three of their last five away La Liga fixtures, scoring eight and conceding six so Both Teams to Score has plenty of value here.

Hugo Duro to have 1 or more Shots on Target

Hugo Duro leads the goalscorers for Valencia with seven over his 16 La Liga appearances. With three goals over his last five home games he’s going to be eager to land a punch on a Barcelona side who are underperforming in the league of late. We’re backing him to have at least one Shot on Target.

Ilkay Gundogan to have 1 or more Shots on Target

Ikay Gundogen was on target in Barcelona’s recent 2-4 humbling at the hands of Girona in the league. He’s come in for plenty of criticism this season for not contributing as many goals as he used to for Manchester City. However, he’s been playing in a more subdued role for Xavi’s Barca.

With Robert Lewandowski however, seeming to be losing his golden touch, Gundogan has been playing slightly more advanced in recent games. Getting into higher positions he’s likely to have a pop here.

        Over 4.5 Barcelona Corners

Of their seven away La Liga games this season, Barcelona have only won three times, drawing the other four. Pressure is always high with the Catalans and a win here would put them within four points of leaders Girona.

With many of their star players rested for their Wednesday night Champions League loss against Antwerp, with some of them coming on in the second half, we should see a more refreshed side here and one that will be eager to make a positive response following that defeat and last weekend’s home loss to Girona.

The away side will be on the front foot here and while their finishing has been somewhat wayward this season, they’re averaging five corners per away La Liga fixture. With Valencia surrendering much of the possession here, the hosts should get at least five corners here too.

Pepelu to Commit 2 or more Fouls

Valenica are one of the cleaner La Liga sides with just 28 yellow cards and three red cards. With Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista missing this game through suspension, we should see France’s Mouctar Diakhaby deputising in his stead.

However, we’re looking at Pepelu here, he’s going to be in for a long night, offering protection in front of his centre backs and against the likes of Gundogan, Pedri, Raphinha and Joao Felix as they cut in and surge forward we reckon he’s going to commit at least two fouls over the 90 minutes.
