    Betis to Win

    Real Betis host Rangers in Seville on Thursday with both sides aiming to secure their progression in the Europa League. In a fiendishly tight Group C, first place is also up for grabs for both sides, so no matter the result of the other fixture (Sparta Prague will go through if they win), there will be something riding on this game.

    Betis only need a draw to secure a place in the last 16, yet that might not be enough to seal top spot, so they will be going all out to win this game.

    The Spaniards have won both of their home fixtures in the competition to date and are undefeated in 10 matches at home this season. They are not typically thrilling – scoring only 11 goals in eight La Liga games – but they are efficient.

    Rangers boss Philippe Clement could well get his first taste of defeat with the Ibrox club in this encounter, with the price on Betis looking very healthy indeed, despite the Gers winning the reverse fixture 1-0.

    Abdallah Sima to have 1 or more Shots on Target

    Clement will look to Sima to provide Rangers’ offensive inspiration, with the on-loan Brighton winger very much the man of the moment. He has scored in all three of Rangers’ December fixtures so far and was also the only scorer when they tackled Betis back in September.

    The way this game pans out is likely to suit him, too. Rangers will seek to operate on the break and that should play into the speedy forward’s hands.

    While he may not get on the score sheet again, the price of him simply having an effort on target is extremely appealing.

        Rangers to have 3 or more Shots on Target

        Rangers have mustered at least 4 shots on target in their previous five Europa League matches this season, so it’s not a stretch to imagine they will get at least three in Seville.

        Clement’s side are going to have to attack at some point on Thursday because they need to score, and that should lend itself to the Gers posing some meaningful threats to their opponents.

        When the teams met at Ibrox, they had five shots on target, with wingers Sima and Rabbi Matondo, who is likely to start here after injury, having three of those.

        Aitor Ruibal to be Shown a Card

        Ruibal is typically a right winger but has been used as Betis’ right-back in each of their last four Europa League matches after not getting a minute at Ibrox. He is very much a forward-thinking player, as was underlined when he scored against Real Madrid at the weekend.

        While he is an accomplished attacker, he is prone to picking up bookings, with five cautions coming in 863 minutes of football this season. That’s more than one yellow card for every two complete 90 minutes he plays.

        With Rangers likely to use the wings as their chief attacking outlet, he could easily be caught out of position and forced into a tactical foul. The price on him being carded is excellent.

        Betis to have more Corners

        Betis have had more corners than their opponents in each of their last eight home matches across all competitions, including at the weekend against Real Madrid.

        They are likely to be territorially dominant in this encounter, with Rangers spending long periods on the back foot. This should lend itself to the home side winning more corners than their opponents, who are likely to play on the counter.
