Both Teams to Score

Brighton have kept a grand total of three clean sheets this season, two of which were against a terrible Ajax side and the other was against AEK Athens in their last Europa League fixture. On home soil, a Both Teams to Score pick would’ve paid out in 10 of their 11 home games. With Marseille scoring 14 over their last five fixtures, we’d be mad not to go with a Both Teams to Score selection here.

Joao Pedro to have 2 or more Shots on Target

While much of the focus remains on Evan Ferguson for the Seagulls, he’s not scored since November 25th against Nottingham Forest. The Irishman is averaging 1.5 shots in the Premier League but just 0.5 in his Europa League appearances.

We’re looking at his Brazilian teammate Joao Pedro here instead. The forward has five goals over his five European games and averages 2.4 shots per game, scoring five in the Premier League landing 1.9 shots on target. In such goal-hungry form, we’re backing Pedro to land at least two Shots on Target here.

        West Ham v Freiburg

        London Stadium, London, 8pm
        TV: TNT Sports

        Draw

Both West Ham and Freiburg have won four and drawn one of their five Europa League games thus far with West Ham ahead in group because they beat Freiburg in the reverse fixture. The Hammers have just a goal difference of +4 over their games while the Germans have one of +12.

There’s little to play for here and both managers are sure to ring in a decent amount of changes, particularly as West Ham face Wolves, Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal before the year ends.

With eight and seven goals between them over their last five home/away games there’s little difference in form.  I see this one ending in a Draw.

        Betis v Rangers

        Estadio Benito Villamarin, Sevilla, 8pm
        TV: TNT Sports

        Betis to Win

Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis are in strong form of late, going 10 games undefeated at the Villamarin, winning four and drawing one of their last five, scoring a healthy 10 while conceding just three.

Rangers’ recent results look good with three wins and two draws while on their travels have won four and drawn one. But, the thing is, Rangers beating Hearts twice, Dundee and Livingston doesn’t really compare to the opposition the hosts have beaten of late. This one should be a Betis Win.

        Rakow v Atalanta

        ArcelorMittal Park, Sosnowiec, 8pm
        TV: Discovery+

        Both Teams to Score

Atalana and Sporting are already qualified from Group D while Rakow will be eager to avoid the wooden spoon. The Italians have won just one of their last five on the road and have conceded a worrying nine goals over those five.

The Poles held Sporting to a 1-1 draw here in October and have won just one of their last five at home, drawing four (winning one in Extra Time) so have been proving tough to beat. We should see Both Teams to Score land here.
