We’re hurtling towards the half-way stage of the 2023/24 Premier League season now as we gear up for another busy weekend in the top flight. We kick off this weekend with the 3pm games as there’s no early match but we’re treated to a Saturday night telly double header as Everton head to Nottingham Forest at 5.30pm before Newcastle and Manchester United go at it at 8pm.

There’s five games on Sunday but it’s West Ham v Crystal Palace on the box at 2pm and a fascinating Manchester City v Spurs clash at 4.30pm.

So, with so much action to get stuck in to it’s only right that we bring in our resident tipster and Premier League predicting guru, Mark Lawrenson who will be battling it out with a Paddy punter in our Challenge Lawro game. But first, here’s what Lawro’s crystal ball has revealed this weekend.

Saturday 3pm: Arsenal v Wolves

Wolves have been hard-done by and it happened yet again at Fulham. Arsenal beat Brentford in a scrappy one last weekend and then battered Lens in the Champions League. It’s all positive for them so I’ll go for Arsenal. Arsenal 2-0 Wolves.

Saturday 3pm: Brentford v Luton

TV: Premier Sports 1

Luton make themselves really difficult to play against at home and it was a good win for them last time. Brentford contained Arsenal quite well without threatening them but I’m going for a home win. Brentford 2-0 Luton.

Saturday 3pm: Burnley v Sheffield United

Burnley are yet to win at home, they’ve lost every game, but I’m going to tip them to change that here. They didn’t do too much wrong against West Ham, they just lost it in the last 5-10 minutes. Burnley 2-0 Sheffield United.

Saturday 5.30pm: Nottingham Forest v Everton

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Everton took a sucker punch with that wondergoal against them but I thought they played quite well against Manchester United who eventually picked them off. There’s murmurings that the owner’s not too enamored with their results at the moment which was always going to happen. I fancy a draw here. Nottingham Forest 1-1 Everton.

Saturday 8pm: Newcastle v Manchester United

TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate

Newcastle were robbed, that handball decision was ridiculous against Paris St Germain and Manchester United’s defensive frailties were on display against Galatasaray yet again. They just can’t seem to get rid of them. Newcastle 2-1 Manchester United.

Sunday 2pm: Bournemouth v Aston Villa

That Aston Villa v Tottenham match was bonkers, it could have been 3-3 in the first 20 minutes but eventually Villa came out on top. Villa’s high line is a bit of a concern away from home but it was a little but better against Spurs so I’ll go for Villa to Win. Bournemouth 1-2 Aston Villa.

Sunday 2pm: Chelsea v Brighton

Chelsea were taken apart at Newcastle while Brighton edged it against Forest but have a midweek Europa League match. They’ve struggled with the balancing act. Chelsea need to win here otherwise it looks like they’re on the slide again. Chelsea 2-1 Brighton.

Sunday 2pm: Liverpool v Fulham

Fulham had a good win against Wolves, regardless of the VAR nonsense. All you can do is win your games. Liverpool are heading into a run of games and you’d expect them to win all three, especially after that good result against Manchester City last weekend. I think Alisson’s out but I can’t see Fulham being at the right end of the pitch to capitalise on it too often. Liverpool 3-0 Fulham.

Sunday 2pm: West Ham v Crystal Palace

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

West Ham won late at Burnley and Crystal Palace lost despite that Michael Olise wondergoal. West Ham are playing in the week but they’ve got home advantage and that might swing it. West Ham 2-1 Crystal Palace.

Sunday 4.30pm: Manchester City v Tottenham

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Tottenham started so brightly against Aston Villa last week but they ran out of steam a bit. Ange Postecoglou started a few players who have hardly had any minutes as well. Manchester City v Liverpool was dull, which every 12.30pm game is as we know. I’ll go for a big City win. Manchester City 3-0 Tottenham.
