England welcome the Netherlands to Wembley Stadium for their penultimate game in Group A1 of the UEFA Women’s Nations League. The Lionesses face the prospect of having to win their last two fixtures in the group to have any hopes of Olympic qualification as part of Team GB.
In their way is a Netherlands side that top the group and are packed full of quality, with star players Vivianne Miedema and Lieke Martens included in their squad. England also possess plenty of quality of their own, with Alessia Russo and Lauren James as part of their attacking presence.
Last time these sides met, both sides were on the scoresheet as the Dutch edged a 2-1 encounter in Utrecht. All but one of England’s Nations League fixtures this campaign has seen both teams score and I’m expecting both sides to find the back of the net at Wembley.

With both sides possessing such quality in attacking areas, goals shouldn’t be a problem in this encounter. Three of England’s four Nations League fixtures have seen over 2.5 goals scored and that’s the exact same record that the Netherlands hold in this campaign to date.
The previous meeting between these two teams ended with three goals scored and I’m expecting similar, if not more, this evening.

Lauren Hemp to Score
England forward Lauren Hemp is in line to win her 50th cap this evening. The Manchester City winger has become a crucial part of how Sarina Wiegman sets up her squad with goals at vital moments, including during a World Cup semi-final in the summer.
With three goals in seven Women’s Super League games this season for Manchester City and two goals in her last four games for the Lionesses, Hemp will be looking for another important goal on a historic occasion for herself.
Lucy Bronze to have 1 or more Shots on Target
It’ll be gold that England, as part of Team GB, look to deliver at the Olympics, but it could be dependent on Bronze if they get that opportunity.
The Barcelona full-back possesses the quality and experience needed to help the Lionesses roar to success against the Dutch. A constant threat when going forward and with two goals to her name already in this Nations League campaign, expect the former UEFA Women’s Player of the Year winner to trouble the Netherlands.
