Saturday 5:30pm: Brentford vs Arsenal
Premier League at the Gtech Community Stadium, London
TV: TNT Sports

The final game on Saturday’s Premier League slate sees Brentford welcome Arsenal to the Gtech Community Stadium. The Bees are doing well to have entered this weekend 11th in the Premier League given that they are still without star striker Ivan Toney, a man often linked to these opponents.

With Man City and Liverpool playing earlier in the day it’s essential Arsenal win this to increase the pressure on the top two in the Premier League.

Arsenal to Win

There’s no doubt that Thomas Frank is a very talented manager and for Brentford to come into this weekend 11th in the Premier League despite being without Toney all season is incredible.

However, this is an Arsenal team who have lost just one Premier League fixture all season, and what’s more impressive is that they don’t even feel like they’ve hit their stride yet. Declan Rice has been a huge addition in midfield and I believe the gulf in class between these two teams will be too much, giving Arsenal the three points.

Both Teams to Score, No

As mentioned above it’s been incredible how Brentford have gotten by without their star striker. Bryan Mbeumo in particular has really stepped up with six goals in 12 Premier League games. That said this Arsenal team have come away from the Gtech Community Stadium without conceding in both of their previous two games.

Not only that but Arsenal, alongside Liverpool, have conceded less goals than anybody else in the Premier League this season with just 10 goals. They are the only two clubs to be averaging less than one goal allowed per game and I think they have enough to shut out Brentford here.

Yoane Wissa to have 2 or more Shots

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa has started all 12 of his club’s Premier League games this season and bagged three goals in the process. He generally plays through the middle, or occasionally the left flank and gets into dangerous positions.

Sadly those three goals don’t tell the whole story, he isn’t a great finisher. His teammate Mbeumo has double the goals and is averaging 2.8 shots per game, with Wissa having half the goals but averaging just 0.2 shots per game less. With Wissa averaging over two and a half shots per game this season it’s fair to expect two on Saturday.

Bukayo Saka to be Fouled 2 or more Times

When you watch Bukayo Saka run at a defence you find yourself wondering how they can bring him down and I imagine a lot of pros feel the same. He’s so quick and direct and his ability to turn on a sixpence is unmatched.

So far this season he’s been fouled an average of 2.3 times per game, to put that in context his nearest Arsenal teammates in this category are Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah who are tied at 1.4 times per game.

Combine that with the fact that the Bees’ first choice left back is out and it means we’re set to have Saka against a reverse. That means fouls.

Mads Roerslev to Commit 1 or more Fouls

So who is that reverse player who’ll be tasked with matching up against Saka? It’s Mads Roerslev. The 24-year old Dane isn’t really a fouling machine but you have to take into account that his 0.3 average fouls per game doesn’t factor in that 60% of his appearances have been from the bench.

In a full 90 minutes against one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attackers and best dribblers I think we’re likely to see 1+ foul(s) from the defender.
