Tottenham and Aston Villa have been two of the most exciting teams in the Premier League this season. Villa have scored the second-highest number of goals in the league this season, scoring 29 goals in 12 games this season.
However, Unai Emery’s side also boast the worst defensive record in the top seven, conceding 17 goals. Tottenham, meanwhile, have scored 24 and conceded 15 in their opening 12 games and have shown in their most recent two games that they are still more than capable of defensive capitulations.
Villa have kept just one clean sheet in five away games this season, conceding 11 goals in the process, while Spurs have leaked chances in each of their last six games, including the games they won.
There is every chance that Sunday’s clash will be a high-scoring, high-octane meeting between two of the most exciting teams in the league.
Aston Villa to Commit 12 or more Fouls
No team has gotten more fouls in the Premier League than Tottenham this season. Ange Postecoglou’s side draw an average of 14.8 fouls per game, at least one foul per game more than any other team in the Premier League.
Villa, meanwhile, have only conceded an average of 10.6 fouls per game in the league this season, the fourth-best record in the division.
However, they have bettered that average in difficult away games this season, conceding 17 fouls in a defeat at Newcastle and 11 in a 1-0 win at Chelsea. They are good value to commit at least a dozen fouls at Tottenham on Sunday.

Tottenham may draw the most fouls in the league, but they also boast one of the worst disciplinary records in the division.
Postecoglou’s side, who are dealing with a number of suspensions, have received 34 yellow cards and three sending offs in 12 games this season, the third-highest number of cards issued to any club in the Premier League.
They have received 16 cards in their last six games and are good value to receive at least three cards when Villa come to town on Sunday.
The meeting between Spurs and Villa is a crucial one, with Villa aiming to leapfrog Spurs with a win. It could be a feisty affair as a result, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a number of cards issued.
Ollie Watkins to have 2 or more Shots on Target
Ollie Watkins broke a mini-goal drought with a goal against Fulham before the international break and the English striker is the most likely Villa player to get on the scoresheet at Tottenham on Sunday. He is certainly the most likely Villa player to try his luck on Sunday.
Watkins averages three shots per game in the league this season, by far the most of any Villa player, with Moussa Diaby in second on 2.1 shots per game. On Sunday, Watkins comes up against a Spurs side that faces far more shots than a team in fourth-place would expect to face.
Spurs face an average of 13.4 shots per game in the league this season, the ninth-highest in the league, and their record is much closer to teams at the bottom of the table than teams in the Champions League places.
Villa will get chances on Sunday, and Watkins will surely be responsible for some of the efforts on goal.
Douglas Luiz to attempt 70 or more Passes
Tottenham are likely to shade possession on Sunday, but not by much. Both Spurs and Villa have dominated the ball this season and Sunday’s clash is likely to be fairly evenly matched.
Douglas Luiz has been one of Villa’s top performers in the Premier League this season and the Brazilian midfielder has also attempted the second-highest number of passes of any Villa player.
Luiz completes an average of 61.8 passes per game with a completion rate of 88%, meaning he attempts roughly 70 passes per game. Considering Villa are likely to enjoy just under 50% possession on Sunday, there is no reason for Luiz not to attempt 70 passes at Tottenham.
