Saturday 8pm: Real Madrid v Valencia La Liga match at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid TV: Viaplay
Both Teams to Score, No
There’s not much love between these two La Liga sides and they tend to be tense affairs, albeit with Real Madrid usually ending up taking the three points. Indeed, Los Blancos have won seven of their last 10 home matchups against Valencia, eight if we count penalty shootout wins.
The hosts have won seven of their last 10 in the league and have won six and drawn one of their seven home fixtures this term and have won four of their last five home games without conceding.
Valencia have only scored in two of their last six visits to Real as well and their away La Liga form with three draws and two defeats of late wouldn’t fill even the most die-hard to Los Ches’ fans with much confidence. They’ve also failed to find the back of the net in two of their last three away games. With Real’s defence so strong at home we can only see one team scoring here.
Real Madrid -1
Real have also beaten Valencia by at least two goals in five of their last six meetings at home and they’ve also won three of their last four home games by at least two goals as well.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are in great form and having qualified for the knockout phase of the Champions League midweek against Braga they can now fully focus on catching Girona at the top of the league table. Against a side low on confidence the hosts should, yet again, beat them by at least two goals.
It’s most certainly the Jude Bellingham show around Real Madrid this season and justifiably so. He’s simply been incredible with 10 goals in his first 11 La Liga appearances. Vinicius Junior though is getting the nod here. The young Brazilian has two over his last three at home and loves taking on Valencia, scoring four times in nine against them over his career so far. We have him adding to his tally here.
Valencia to Receive the Most Cards
Both Real and Valencia are actually two of the most well-behaved La Liga clubs. The hosts have collected 23 cards so far this season with the away side gathering 20. To put that into some context, Getafe are the worst offenders with 56 cards already and there’s only been 12 games played.
In their last seven visits to take on Real, the away side have picked up the most cards in five of them with Real only getting more in one game. Tempers tend to flare in these and we can certainly see the visitors again collecting more bookings.
Jude Bellingham to have 1 or more Shots on Target
Who’d have thought that Jude Bellingham would look so comfortable carrying Real Madrid on his shoulders? But he’s been amazing since his arrival, scoring 10 in 11 in La Liga as well as three in three in the Champions League.
He may well add another goal to his tally here but for our Bet Builder we want to play it a little cooler so we’re backing him to have at least one shot on target.
