Draw
Milan are very much a bogey team for Napoli on home soil with the hosts only beaten them one time over their last six meetings, two of them ended level with Milan taking the three points on three occasions.
Napoli have won both of their most recent games but they were against a lower calibre of side than Milan, Verona and Union Berlin, and have lost to both Fiorentina and Real Madrid over their last two home games. Those two losses mean we have to expect a response but without star striker Victor Osimhen they might not be able to get over the line here.
Milan have also lost both of their most recent games, to Juventus and PSG but away from home in the Serie A they’ve won four and lost one. With Milan’s great record here and without Osimhen we can’t see the hosts winning but they’re still formidable at home and it looks like honours will be shared.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia & Olivier Giroud to have 1 or more Shots on Target
Without Osimhen, his Georgian teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will be shouldering goal-scoring threats. Of course, he’s an excellent player and while not as clinical as his Nigerian colleague he’s gifted with some incredible skill and has a great eye for a shot.
For Milan, Olivier Giroud is still delivering with four goals over eight Serie A appearances so far and he averages 1.6 shots per game. Milan will probably have more of the ball here despite being the away side so their French striker should be seeing plenty of it.
Marseille’s form is beginning to improve, they’ve now won three and drawn two over their last five at home in all competitions, Lyon, however have failed to win any of their nine games this season and on their league travels have only collected a single point from a possible 12. This one has ‘home win’ written all over it folks,
In what is somewhat uncharacteristic for Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their five home games this season. That’s likely to change here however, as they’ve kept Alaves scoreless in three of their last five visits and the away side have failed to find the back of the net in three of their last six in La Liga and in three of their last five on their league excursions.
Antoine Griezmann to Score
Is Antoine Griezmann enjoying the best season of his life? It’s a little too early to tell but he’s certainly enjoying his football again, scoring seven in nine in La Liga, as well as two in three in the Champions League. In such hot goal-scoring form we simply have to back him to add to his tally.
