It’s only the third game of the group stage but Celtic face a do or die double header against the mighty Atletico Madrid over the next few weeks, starting at Celtic Park on Wednesday. Atleti started sluggishly but have picked up big time of late, winning their last six on the bounce, triggered by a huge 3-1 win over bitter rivals Real Madrid. They’ve got the bit between their teeth, have near limitless Champions League experience, and the superior squad to boot. It has to be Atletico to Win to kick us off.

Despite all the old stereotypes about Atletico Madrid, I fancy that there’s going to be a few goals in this. They’ve seen Over 2.5 Goals in all of their last four competitive matches and seven in nine going further back.
Overs has clicked in Celtic’s last five and also in six of their last seven. Celtic desperately need a result here so even if it’s tight they’ll have to push forward and that could leave big gaps. The numbers and the match scenario are saying we’ll see Over 2.5 Goals.

With teams who have seen Overs landing a lot recently you’d also expect Both Teams To Score to be a regular payer as well. And in these two’s instances you’d be right.
