Saidy Janko to commit 2 or more fouls
When it comes to any Bet Builder involving Manchester City I always look at who on the opposite team will be playing at right-back, in this case it’s Saidy Janko. He’s averaged one foul committed per game in his two Champions League appearances so far this season but things are about to get a lot tougher.
He’s likely to be dealing with Jeremy Doku who has been fouled an average of 2.3 times per game in the Premier League for Man City and has been fouled three times in two Champions League games, despite both appearances being from the bench. In the case of Pep-roulette
it would be Jack Grealish taking his place who has was fouled twice in his single Champions League appearance this season.
Julian Alvarez to score or assist
Thanks to the goalscoring of Erling Haaland I still don’t think the world has truly realised how good Julian Alvarez is. He’s been playing second fiddle to the Norwegian at City but he’d get into nearly any team on the planet.
He’s lethal in front of goal and great at creating chances for teammates. In two Champions League appearances, one of which was from the bench, he’s managed three goals and an assist. His Premier League record is also exceptional with four goals and three assists in nine games.
We have to back the Argentinian to either score or assist against an inferior Young Boys team.
This season is seems like Phil Foden is one of the first names on the teamsheet for Guardiola, as shown by starting eight of nine Premier League games. In those games he’s been brilliant, and more importantly for us he has averaged 1.7 shots per game.
In two Champions League games those numbers have increased hugely, with an average of 5.5 shots per game. City should have lots of possession here and be able to carve out a lot of chances, so we can expect the Stockport Iniesta to get off at least two shots.
Cheikh Niasse to be shown a card
Playing in a midfield against Man City must be a horrible task. With their great ball retention and talented players it must be tiring and very frustrating. So far in the Champions League the Young Boys midfielder Cheikh Niasse has been averaging two fouls committed per game, in addition to that he has a booking too.
The Senegalese midfielder is going to have an incredibly tough day and I think we can expect his chance of a booking to be greatly increased against a team of this quality.
Young Boys to receive the most cards
With Man City likely to dominate the possession stats and be playing with the ball in the most dangerous areas it makes a lot of sense to back Young Boys to have the most bookings in this game.
In two Champions League games Man City have a combined three cards, exactly half of what Young Boys have picked up in that say time. Likewise Man City have committed 11 fouls across two games, with Young Boys committing 25.
We should see the Swiss side in the referee’s book more than we do City.
