Tottenham to win

Tottenham’s “Angeball” revolution continued in extremely fortuitous circumstances against Liverpool last weekend, but the fact remains that Spurs look a completely different team under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs have taken 17 points from a possible 21 this season and will back themselves to make that 20 out of 24 against Luton on Saturday afternoon.

Luton, to their credit, have improved drastically since the opening-day defeat to Brighton and are now one-third of the way towards beating Derby’s record of 11 points, something that looked in real danger of being broken in the early days of the season.

Luton’s win over Everton last weekend has lifted them out of the bottom three, although their midweek defeat against fellow promoted club Burnley was a blow.

They will make life difficult for Tottenham on Saturday, but Spurs can go top of the table if they pick up three points and it’s difficult to see anything other than an away win.

    Both teams to score

Luton have only failed to score in two of their seven league games to date this season and are capable of causing problems for Spurs, who have not always looked rock solid at the back.
Postecoglou’s side have conceded eight goals in seven games this season and have only managed two clean sheets – against Manchester United and Bournemouth.

They were incredibly fortunate not to concede a penalty against United, while Bournemouth had plenty of chances before Postecoglou changed the system and killed the game off.
Luton, therefore, will take confidence from Spurs’ defensive record and have every chance of scoring on Saturday afternoon.

Edwards’ side have scored in all three of their home games this season and can continue that record against Spurs.

Son Heung-Min to have two or more shots on target

It took a while to get going, but Son Heung-Min has finally rediscovered his form under Postecoglou following a disappointing campaign last season.

Son failed to score in each of his first three league games of the season but has now scored six in his last four games, with five of those goals coming away from home.

He averages 2.9 shots per game in the league this season and there is a good chance that he betters that average on Saturday against a Luton side that faces an average of over 15 shots per game.

Son will seek to continue his red-hot goal streak and will surely try his luck on several occasions.

There is every chance that two of his efforts find the target.

Yves Bissouma to attempt 90 or more passes

No Spurs player has attempted more passes than Yves Bissouma this season.
The Spurs midfielder looks completely reborn under Postecoglou and has completed an average of 77 passes per game with a completion rate just about 91%, meaning that he attempts well over 80 passes per game.

Spurs have become far more possession-orientated under Postecoglou, going from an average of 49.8% possession per game last season to 60.8% this season.

They face a Luton side with the lowest average possession in the league at 36.8% and are therefore likely to control the ball on Saturday afternoon.

Consequently, there is every chance that Bissouma attempts at least 90 passes.

Luton to commit 13 or more fouls

Luton’s average of 11.7 fouls per game is the seventh-worst in the league and it is likely to increase after meeting Spurs on Saturday.

Spurs are the third-most fouled team in the Premier League, drawing an average of 12.9 fouls per game so far.

They will control the ball and territory on Saturday afternoon, drawing Luton into numerous fouls.

Spurs also possess several players capable of drawing fouls with quick feet, meaning there is every chance that Luton commit more than a dozen fouls.
