We’re well into the 2023/24 Premier League season now and we’re gearing up for another busy weekend in the English top flight. Luton and Spurs get the ball rolling in Saturday’s early game before the purists get fired up for Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest on the box in the evening.

It’s a super Sunday is the truest sense this week with a mouth-watering Brighton v Liverpool clash at 2pm followed by last season’s second and first-placed teams in Arsenal v Manchester City at 4.30pm.

So, with the weekend hurling towards us once again, there’s no time to waste and it’s only right that we bring in our resident tipster and Premier League predicting guru, Mark Lawrenson who will be battling it out with a Paddy punter in our Challenge Lawro game. But first, here’s what Lawro’s crystal ball has revealed this weekend.

Saturday 12.30pm: Luton v Tottenham

TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate

Tottenham will just be glad to play this game and move on from last week and obviously it was a really good result against Liverpool! Luton were good value for money to beat Everton last weekend and that was by far and away their best performance of the season so far. Ange Postecoglou has definitely improved Spurs and everyone’s chipping in now that they’ve lost Harry Kane. Luton 0-2 Tottenham.

Saturday 3pm: Burnley v Chelsea

I think beating Fulham was a big result for Chelsea, not just the fact that they won and Mykhailo Mudryk scored but also it’s the local rivalry. They can build on that and I think they will here. Burnley 0-2 Chelsea.

Saturday 3pm: Everton v Bournemouth

Everton had a few chances against Luton but it wasn’t as many as you might have expected, even with two up through the middle. I just can’t believe they’re going to lose at home again. Bournemouth got taken apart by Arsenal so they’ll be trying to tighten up. Everton are well overdue a home win. Everton 2-1 Bournemouth.

Saturday 3pm: Fulham v Sheffield United

There’s rumours about Chris Wilder coming back to Sheffield United and nothing surprises you in football anymore. Fulham won’t be happy after being beaten by Chelsea so I’ll go with a stalemate in this one. Fulham 1-1 Sheffield United.

Saturday 3pm: Manchester United v Brentford

It’s a tough game, Brentford, because they are very much up and at you but I’ll go with a Manchester United home win. Their poor form can’t continue, surely? Manchester United 2-0 Brentford.

Saturday 5.30pm: Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

I’m not sure I’ll be watching this one but Crystal Palace had that brilliant victory at Manchester United last week and I fancy them to back that up. Nottingham Forest have been okay on the road in all honesty but I’ll go for Palace. Crystal Palace 2-1 Nottingham Forest.

Sunday 2pm: Brighton v Liverpool

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

I’m expecting a response from Liverpool because, in essence, they didn’t do anything wrong against Spurs last weekend. They played well enough and I was screaming because I predicted the 1-1 last week! I think this might be a draw with both in Europe on Thursday and this will be a good game because they both like to play. Brighton 1-1 Liverpool.

Sunday 2pm: West Ham v Newcastle

Going to West Ham is never easy but Newcastle were excellent against Paris St-Germain on Wednesday night. They’re on a good run and West Ham have lost a couple recently after a good start. I’m tempted to go for Newcastle but they put so much in to that PSG game I think it might be a draw which David Moyes would certainly take. West Ham 1-1 Newcastle.

Sunday 2pm: Wolves v Aston Villa

Wolves had a fab result against Manchester City and Aston Villa, where did that come from against Brighton? Villa are up there and we know they’ve got a good manager as well. I’m not sure this is called a Midlands derby as such but there’s plenty of feeling about it. Wolves 0-2 Aston Villa

Sunday 4.30pm: Arsenal v Manchester City

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

I fancy a draw here. Manchester City got back on the wagon in midweek after that surprise loss against Wolves and it sounded comfortable against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Arsenal lost at Lens on Tuesday and they’ve just been a bit in and out this season in all honesty. Arsenal 1-1 Manchester City.

So you’ve heard what Lawro has to say and, all throughout the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, Paddy’s going to be dishing out free bets to his shop customers who can out-shout our mighty game-guessing guru each and every match day.
