Borussia Monchengladbach v Mainz

On paper this just looks like two bad teams coming up against each other and it’s not even on the tellybox, in the UK anyway, so there can’t be much appetite for it. However, ‘Gladbach have had some terrible fixtures, they’ve already faced Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig, losing to all of them. No shame in that but still, it looks bad on paper. Last weekend however they chalked up their first win, beating Bochum 1-3 on the road.
Mainz however, are actually terrible. They’ve collected just one point this season and it looks like it’s going to be a long campaign for them. They’ve scored in three of their four away games this season in all competitions and the hosts haven’t kept a single clean sheet so far in the Bundesliga yet. Both Teams to Score gets us started.
Borussia Monchengladbach to Win
‘Gladbach’s results are way worse than what this team is capable of. They’ve managed to score 11 goals over their six Bundesliga games and while it’s very much doubtful they’ll keep a clean sheet, they certainly have the firepower to outscore Mainz.
Lecce v Sassuolo

Domenico Berardi to have 1 or more Shots on Target in the 1st Half
You have to love Domenico Berard, a one-team man, he’s played 308 times for Sassuolo scoring 128 times, that’s a goal per 2.4 games.
His scoring stats are above average for the season so far with four in five Serie A appearances and while we’d certainly not be stunned were he to score here we’re going to play it safer and go with him landing a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes.

Birmingham v West Brom

Obviously it’s a derby and yes, obviously they don’t hate each other as much as they both hate Villa, everyone hates Villa in fairness, but both will still be up for grabbing the bragging rights here. Also there’s only four points in the difference between the Baggies in fifth and Middlesbrough in 17th, with Birmingham in 12th just a point behind them.
Results for Blues haven’t been great of late but at home they’re in decent shape, winning three and drawing two, scoring eight and conceding three while West Brom are undefeated in their last five in the league and have scored eight over their last five on the road. Both Teams to Score is a very decent price here.
Athletic Bilbao v Almeria
San Memes Barria, 8pm
Both Teams to Score
Athletic Bilbao are very short odds to win here. No complaints on that, Almeria haven’t won a game since late May. However, the away side have scored in all but one of their La Liga fixtures this season and the hosts have only held one team scoreless at the San Memes this season. There’s some great value here in the Both Teams to Score price.
Gorka Guruzeta to have 1 or more Shots on Target
While not Athletic’s leading goalscorer, that’s Inaki Williams with four, Gorka Guruzeta has three goals in eight La Liga appearances and leads the line for the Lions with both Williams brothers playing in support.
The away side have shipped an embarrassingly woeful 21 goals over their eight league games so far, if Guruzeta doesn’t score he’ll at least get a shot on target against such a woeful defence.
