Arsenal to Win

Arsenal are no doubt an excellent side, but they have been blessed with one of the easiest Champions League groups in recent memory.

In truth, Group B reads more like a Europa League group, with perennial winners Sevilla finding themselves just above the relegation zone in La Liga and Arsenal’s opponents Lens finding themselves in a similar position in Ligue 1.

Lens have won their last two games, but Arsenal could hardly ask for a better opponent. The Gunners have won all four of their away games this season so far and are yet to concede a goal away from home in all competitions.

They were ruthless against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon and should have few problems dispatching Lens.

    Bukayo Saka to score

Bukayo Saka grabbed his first-ever Champions League goal in the 4-0 win over PSV last time out, and the English winger can continue his excellent form with another goal at Lens.

Saka has scored four goals in seven league appearances this season, scoring five goals in eight games in all competitions.

Two of his goals have come from the penalty spot, but Arsenal have already won five penalties in the league this season and are clearing drawing their opponents into fouls in the box.

There is a good chance that Saka scores here. The fact that he takes some penalties only increases the chances of him scoring against Lens.

Martin Odegaard to have one or more shots on target

His performance against Spurs aside, Martin Odegaard has also enjoyed an excellent start to the season, scoring four goals in eight starts in all competitions.

Odegaard averages almost three shots per game in the league and Champions League and is good value to hit the target at least once against Lens.

Arsenal have averaged more than 60% possession in their games this season and have attempted over 15 shots per game in all competitions.

They should at least reach 15 shots against Lens and Odegaard is likely to be responsible for a few of them, with one of them likely to find the target at least.

Lens to commit 12 or more fouls

Lens could be forced into several fouls, with Arsenal likely to dominate both possession and territory.

The Ligue 1 side have made an average of more than 14 fouls per game in France, while they made 16 fouls in their Champions League opener against Sevilla.

Arsenal, meanwhile, draw an average of more than 11 fouls per game and boast a number of quick-footed attacking players who are adept at beating their man.

There is a good chance that Lens commit at least a dozen fouls.

Arsenal Goalkeeper to make three or more saves

Arsenal have made a great start to the season, but they have not exactly been convincing at the back.

Mikel Arteta’s side have faced an average of almost three shots on target per game in the league, Champions League, and League Cup this season, even facing four efforts on goal in their comfortable 4-0 win over PSV.

Lens have by no means made a good start to the season in Ligue 1, but they have created plenty of chances at home, averaging seven shots on target per home league game.

They won’t come anywhere close to that average against Arsenal, but they could force Aaron Ramsdale or David Raya into at least three saves.
