Aston Villa v Everton
Aston Villa to Win
We’ve a tankard brimming with delicious and invigorating Carabao action on Wednesday night, so what better occasion to brew up a Multi Match Bet Builder for the games kicking off at 7.45pm? We’ll begin with Aston Villa v Everton in what should be a pretty straightforward home win.
Sure Everton picked up a vital three points in the Premier League at the weekend, but Sean Dyche will consider this match and competition as quite a significant pain in the a**e as he plots The Toffees’ top-flight survival. I expect Unai Emery to make changes as well, especially with European football to contend with, but you have to think Villa’s second string will be far stronger than Everton’s.
Brentford v Arsenal
Brentford (+1)
This one feels a little more complicated as Arsenal head to west London as favourites, but with surely no desire to go that far in the competition. Brentford, on the other hand, might fancy a deep run and a potential Wembley final in the spring with their seat at the top table next season already looking nailed on at this early stage.
Arsenal will ring the changes, and they do have a deeper squad these days than in recent years, but The Bees could well go full strength. If they do they’ve got a great chance of at least taking this to penalties (no extra time in the Carabao these days) as they, generally speaking, have been involved in tight games this year with only one loss by greater than a one-goal margin which came last time out. I fancy the hosts to go for this competition so Brentford (+1) could be a handy Bet Builder leg.

Chelsea v Brighton
Chelsea to Win
We’ve another all Premier League clash here as Brighton head to their main financier, Chelsea Football Club. The Blues are the favourites here which may seem barmy if you consider each club’s respective form and league position, but I think Paddy might be on to something.
Chelsea are desperate for good news, some cohesion and confidence, so I can see Mauricio Pochettino going full strength (whatever that looks like at Chelsea these days) without any European distractions to contend with. It’s the perfect opportunity for a strong Chelsea XI to Win against what should be a much-changed Seagulls side who have bigger fish to fry this year.
Both Teams To Score
While Chelsea have been woeful in front of goal in the Premier League this season, with only Luton and Burnley scoring fewer goals than them, we’ll probably need them to bag twice here. Brighton’s first team have firing on all cylinders and are the top flight’s top scorers with 18 in six games, two more than the mighty Manchester City in the same number.
What we’re betting on is that Chelsea’s forwards can take advantage of a slightly disorganised and makeshift Brighton backline to power them to the win with a couple of goals. Brighton will score, they’ve scored in every game this season, with Both Teams To Score landing every time as well, that’s seven out of seven.
Liverpool v Leicester
Both Teams To Score
Liverpool look to be well and truly back in the groove and they currently trail City by two points at the top of the Premier League table. Leicester are enjoying life in the Championship but they’ll be hoping it’s a brief stay as they top the second tier after eight games.
This should be a good clash then, but both will make changes with other targets in mind. However, that might give us a slightly care-free approach and a few goals.
These two have ben banging them in across all competitions this season with The Foxes scoring in all-but one of their games and The Reds boasting a 100% record. Unless Liverpool go full strength and Leicester make 11 changes there’s a great chance we see Both Teams Scoring here.
