Real Madrid to Win
We’re treated to a meaty La Liga clash on Sunday night as Real head across town to take on Atletico in the Madrid derby. Atleti revel in their role as underdogs and they’ll need to squeeze every drop of that if they’re to get anything out of this game against their most bitter rivals who have won six out of six in competitive action this term.
Atletico have won just two of their five competitive games, drawing two and losing the other. They’ve been a proper Jekyll and Hyde side with a 7-0 win over Rayo Vallecano followed by a 3-0 loss at Valencia.
It’s all very un-Atleti but here we are. Real, on the other hand, are doing what Real do as they find a way to win and these days it’s usually thanks to the cultured feet of the sensational Jude Bellingham.
The home side are not the rock-solid dogs of war they once were and their love affair with S**thousery seems to have distracted them from what actually made them good. This will be close but, given the run they’ve been on, we have to side with Real Madrid to Win at what is a wonderful price all things considered.
Over 2.5 Goals
While Real’s results have been flawless, their defending has not been. They’ve conceded in three of their last four La Liga games with the division’s 20th, 11th and 9th-placed teams breaching their back line.
Atleti are sitting 7th after just four games played but they have scored 10 goals, with that figure greatly boosted by that aforementioned thrashing of Vallecano. I have a feeling Real will concede again meaning we’ll need Over 2.5 Goals to click and, if this game is true to form, a lad from Stourbridge will bag it. Talking of which…
There’s dream starts to a career at a new club and then there’s Jude Bellingham’s first half-dozen games at Los Blancos. The 20-year-old has scored six goals in six appearances, with his three most recent coming later than the 80th minute (two post the 90 mark) and all being the winner.
He looks like he was born to do it as well, he’s patented a new celebration, and looks like the main man in this world-class team already. Would it be pushing the fairytale for Bellingham To Score Anytime and bag another winner in his first derby at the club? I honestly don’t think it would.
Alvaro Morata To Have 1 Or More Shots On Target
While Bellingham’s bossing it for Real, Alvaro Morata remains the main man for Atleti which might give you an indication as to where the game may be won and lost. However, he plays as a lone striker through the middle and usually gets plenty of ammunition from Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay.
What he does with it is often the problem, but he has notched three league goals in four games and is averaging a whopping 2.4 shots on target per 90 minutes played. Alvaro Morata To Have 1 Or More Shots On Target should be a handy winning leg in our Bet Builder.
Saul Niguez To Commit 2 or More Fouls
While he may not be a goal machine, Morata loves a clumsy foul and he actually tops Atleti’s fouls-per-90 charts. Second to the forward is former Chelsea loanee Saul Niguez.
The 28-year-old has racked up an impressive 3.4 per 90 minutes played. While he has made some substitute appearances, I think there’s a good chance he’ll start here. Even if he doesn’t, I’d still fancy Saul Niguez To Commit 2 or More Fouls in a frantic final 30 minutes.
