Brentford to Win
Everton started last season with just four points from six games and avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth, so their return of one point from their opening five games leaves them in an even more perilous position.
Saturday’s trip to Brentford surely now falls into the must-win category after a run of four losses in their opening five games. Arguably the most worrying thing for Sean Dyche’s side is that they have not had a particularly difficult start to the season, aside from their meeting with Arsenal last week.
Dyche’s side are yet to score a goal at home, losing to Fulham and Wolves at Goodison Park, while they also failed to beat Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Brentford, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle last weekend but should return to form against Everton. Thomas Frank’s side are without a win at home so far but can rectify that against one of the most out-of-form teams in the league.
Yoane Wissa to have 2 or more Shots on Target
It was always going to be difficult for Brentford to replace Ivan Toney’s goals, but Yoane Wissa is certainly trying his best to do so. The Brentford forward has scored twice in five games this season, which is less than Bryan Mbuemo’s tally of four.
However, no Brentford player has attempted more shots than Wissa, he averages four shots per game, double that of Mbuemo’s average, and will surely try his luck against the Toffees.
Everton actually rank amongst the best in the league in terms of shots faced per game, but they have faced 23 shots on target in five games so far this season and Brentford are likely to test Jordan Pickford on several occasions. Wissa is good value to do so at least twice.

Abdoulaye Doucoure to Commit 2 or More Fouls
It is somewhat surprising that the odds of Doucoure committing at least two fouls are so long considering he is by far the worst offender in the Everton squad. Doucoure averages 1.8 fouls per game for Everton in the league this season, by far the highest average of any Everton player who has played more than one game.
He is also just outside the top ten for most fouls per game in the Premier League this season. Playing against a Brentford side that will likely control possession on Saturday, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Doucoure commit at least two fouls.
Over 4.5 Cards
There has been a significant increase in the number of cards issued this season thanks to new refereeing directives calling for more bookings for time-wasting and dissent. Those bookings should level off as players become more accustomed to the rule changes, but it is not the case yet.
Everton have picked up ten yellow cards in five games this season, while Brentford are just behind them on nine. Between them, they average about four cards per game, but there is a good chance that we will see five cards or more on Saturday evening.
This is a huge game for the away side and there could be quite a lot of tension on Saturday, raising the temperature and the chances of bookings.
Nathan Collins to Attempt 50 or More Passes
Neither Brentford nor Everton rank particularly highly in terms of average possession in the Premier League, but Brentford do rank considerably higher than Everton. Frank’s side average 47.3% possession in the league this season compared to Everton’s average of 41.4%, the fifth-lowest in the division.
As such, the Bees are likely to control the ball on Saturday, and Nathan Collins is subsequently likely to attempt at least 50 passes. The Irish defender has played the second-highest number of passes in the Brentford squad this season, averaging 45.6 passes per game with a completion rate of 86%, meaning he attempts far more than 50 passes per game.
Given that Brentford will enjoy more of the ball than normal on Saturday, Collins should have absolutely no problem reaching that average.
