EFL Championship match at St. Andrew’s

Over 2.5 Goals
It’s early days in the 2023/24 Championship season but it already feels like Birmingham and QPR are at a crossroads. The Blues started well but have now gone four games without a win in all competitions while The Rs have won just twice in eight competitive outings, losing five and drawing the other.
This is a tricky match to call, given that both are in such poor recent form. City are 8th following a strong start while The Hoops are down in 20th and could in for a long, hard season if the first seven games are anything to go by.
I’ll swerve a result and instead opt for Over 2.5 Goals as our first punt here. This has clicked in three of the hosts’ last five matches and two of The R’s last four and it missing by just one goal in all four of the other games.
Both Teams To Score
This leads us nicely on to Both Teams To Score. QPR have scored in each of their last four games, conceding in three of those with Both Teams To Score obviously clicking in the same number.
Birmingham have seen both teams netting in four of their last five and they’ve scored in the same number as well with only Watford keeping them at bay. While both are pretty poor at the back they’re half decent going forward which should be enough for Both Teams To Score on Friday night.

Jay Stansfield to Score Anytime
One man who’s looked sharp for Birmingham this season is Fulham’s on-loan forward Jay Stansfield. He’s scored three times this term, the most of anyone who’ll be involved on Friday night, and he notched in City’s last game, the 2-1 loss to Preston on Tuesday.
He’s been a regular starter since his move this summer and has bagged those three goals in just five appearances, only playing the full 90 once. Jay Stansfield to Score Anytime looks by far your best bet in this market.
Ilias Chair To Have 1 or More Shots On Target
Ilias Chair’s form is always important to QPR’s fortunes and while he’s yet to score, he has provided two assists this term. They need him to start bagging if they’re to move on up the table.
However, he has been trying his luck and is averaging a shade over two shots per 90 minutes played. I expect him to go the distance here so Chair To Have 1 or More Shots On Target should he a handy leg for our Bet Builder.
Ivan Sunjic To Commit 2 Or More Fouls
We’ll round off with a fouls bet as these are two of the most indisciplined sides in the division. Jack Colback would have been an outstanding candidate for QPR but the former Newcastle man is, fittingly, suspended for this game.
Instead I’ll side with Blues enforcer Ivan Sunjic To Commit 2 Or More Fouls. Stansfield is actually topping the average fouls per 90 table for the hosts and Andre Dozzell is a fine candidate for the away side but at the better price we’ll plump for Sunjic to be in the thick of the action with all of the players mentioned here averaging over 2 fouls per 90 minutes played.
