7.30pm: AEK Athens v Olympiakos

It’s Sunday night so that can mean only one thing – it’s Euro footy Multi Match Bet builder time! We’re kicking off this week’s edition with a league less trodden here on Paddy Power News, it’s AEK Athens v Olympiakos in The Greek Super League.

This is a hefty clash that sees last season’s winners host giants Olympiakos who could only finish 3rd, 10 points behind the champions, in 2022/23. We’re only three games into the season but Olympiakos are top with a perfect record, 10 goals scored and none conceded.

AEK have only played twice but have won one and drawn one with four scored and three let in. While there’s not much form this season to go on, these two have seen plenty of goals in their games so far.

Including AEK’s European exploits, they’ve had Over 2.5 Goals in four of their last six games while their visitors have seen overs in all four of their most recent matches. There’s a chance this is cagey but we’ll back Over 2.5 Goals as both are in great form going forward.

7.45pm: Lyon v Le Harve

TV: TNT Sports 2

To France next for newly-promoted Le Harve heading to the shambolic Lyon whose players are fresh off a public bollocking from the fans (which was beamed live across the world, no less) after their woeful 4-1 thrashing at home to Paris St-Germain last time out. Lyon are bottom of the table with one point from four games while Le Harve have a healthy five from four.

Surely we have to see some kind of improvement from the hosts here purely on the basis that things can’t get much worse. And who better to rediscover your grove against than a side who rarely display their wares in the top tier of French football?

However, I can’t tell you to back Lyon with any confidence and will instead opt for Both Teams To Score. Le Havre have scored in all their games this season with BTTS landing in three while Lyon have seen both team bagging in the same number and they’ve scored in three of their four games.

7.45pm: Roma v Empoli

TV: TNT Sports 1

From one early-season crisis club to another in the form of Roma who have one point from their three games. They tackle Empoli, who have started even worse than them, at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night and their opponents are rock bottom with zero points from their three games and no goals scored.

Strap yourselves in for this one, then. Roma have scored quite a few but have, obviously, conceded plenty as well. Empoli, on the other hand, just do the latter. While Roma have started badly you have to think they’ll get a win here.

They’re big favourites to do so in front of their own fans and they have scored four goals in three games. Against what could well be the worst team in the league, there’s a decent price on Roma (-1) in the handicap markets.

8pm: Real Madrid v Real Sociedad

TV: Viaplay Sports 1 and LALIGATV

We’ll finish off with a royal rumble in Spain as Real Madrid welcome Real Sociedad to their recently-renovated Bernabeu home. Madrid are top of the pile with a 100% record after four games, scoring eight times and conceding twice.

The away side are unbeaten in 9th but have drawn three of their four matches so far. Sociedad have been a little bit of a bogey team at home for Real of late, with the Spanish champions winning just two of their last six competitive games against this opponent on home soil.

Real Madrid to Win

This will clearly not be plain sailing and Real have made quite hard work of their four wins this season with England’s Jude Bellingham having to dig them out of a couple of holes late on during a sensational run of four goals in his first five games at the club. However, they are at home for just the second time this season and should have the class, the backing, and the composure to ensure we see a Real Win.

Over 2.5 goals

Sociedad are unbeaten but they’ve hardly played any of the bright lights of the division yet, so this should be a bit of a reality check. They are scoring loads and have notched seven across their four games, though five did come last time out in the 5-3 win over Getafe.

I think they might bag here so Real will need at least two. They have conceded in two of their a Liga matches in 2023/24 with Overs landing in both of those games so I’ll side with Over 2.5 Goals.
