There’s more Euro 2024 qualifying action on Monday night and the first game in focus is Portugal v Luxembourg. Portugal are top of their group having won all five of their games, while scoring 15 and not conceding.
Luxembourg have impressed in their qualifying campaign and they’ve won their last three to leave them second in Group J. While Luxembourg have put together a string of wins, Portugal’s quality will shine through and Roberto Martinez’s men should win comfortably.
Instead of backing a home victory, we’re on Portugal (-2) on the Handicap. Portugal beat Luxembourg 6-0 in March and while the scoreline may not be as big on Monday night, Martinez’s side will fancy their chances of netting a few.
Goncalo Ramos to Score Anytime
We’re on a convincing Portugal win so backing a goal scorer makes sense – and we’ve landed on Goncalo Ramos to Score Anytime. Cristiano Ronaldo is suspended after picking up his third yellow card of the campaign in Portugal’s 1-0 win against Slovakia on Friday, meaning Ramos will most likely lead the line on Monday evening.
Ramos, who joined PSG on loan from Benfica in the summer, has netted four times in his seven appearances for Portugal and he’ll fancy his chances of adding to that tally if he starts against Luxembourg. The 22-year-old has had seven shots in his two starts for PSG this season and he’s a solid shout to bag anytime.
Under 4.5 Goals
Backing Portugal (-2) on the Handicap means we need them to win by three goals, however, we’re not expecting a boatload of goals on Monday.
3-0 or 4-0 seems the most likely scoreline as we’re not confident of both teams scoring, so Under 4.5 Goals is a smart selection to add into our Bet Builder. There have been four or less goals in Portugal and Luxembourg’s last six qualifiers combined – let’s hope that continues!
We’re sticking with Group J and checking out Slovakia v Liechtenstein. Like Portugal, Slovakia are nailed on to win. We’re not going to pick a result in this clash, instead, Under 3.5 Goals is our selection.
It’s hard to see Slovakia hammering Liechtenstein considering their last clash finished 1-0 to Francesco Calzona’s side in June. There have been three or less goals in every Slovakia qualifier, as well as Under 3.5 Goals landing in Liechtenstein’s last three outings. The stats point to backing the unders.
Finally, we’re checking out the two remaining Group J teams in Iceland v Bosnia, which sees fifth host fourth. Iceland have won just one of their five qualifiers, while Bosnia’s tally is just two victories.
Both Iceland and Bosnia need to win if they are to have any chance of finishing in the top two so we’re expecting an end-to-end game with plenty of chances. Instead of predicting the result, we like the look of Both Teams to Score.
