Sunday 7.45pm: Ireland v Netherlands Euro 2024 Qualifier, Aviva Stadium, Dublin TV: RTE 2, Viaplay Sports 1
I did predict the Republic of Ireland to lose 3-0 to France and with that 2-0 I think Ireland got away with it lightly. I was following the game and they didn’t have too many opportunities which is understandable playing away in France but this is at home.
I still fancy The Netherlands, though. They are starting to improve and they’re doing really well. They beat Greece 3-0 and it was very, very comfortable the other night.
In the group that they’re in, Netherlands have two wins and six points. This is huge for Ireland, absolutely massive after the 2-0 defeat against France and they’re 4th in the group with just three points from four games which is not great and it’s going to be hard to qualify.
In this game I’m going for The Netherlands to Win 2-0, sorry Paddy! I fancy Cody Gakpo to Score First in the game, that’s quite a decent price.
I’ve also got Frenkie de Jong to have 1 or More Shots On Target and John Egan to Commit 2 or More Fouls in the game. It could be a long night for him.
