Sunday is a day for rest, relaxation and Premier League action. We’ve got a tasty slate this weekend but it’s the two games at 2pm that we’re focusing on here and we’ve got a 10/1 Multi-Match Bet Builder pack with five value picks.

We have Vincent Kompany v Unai Emery at Turf Moor with Burnley still looking for their first points of the campaign against a good Aston Villa side. Then we have one of the other newly-promoted teams, Sheffield United, with a seriously tough ask as they welcome last season’s treble winners Man City to town.

Burnley v Aston Villa

Turf Moor, 2pm

Aston Villa to Win

The first leg of our Multi-Match Bet Builder is a simple one, we’re backing Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to take the three points at Burnley and keep Vincent Kompany’s team on zero points.

Villa were so impressive last season after the arrival of Emery that I think we can forgive them the opening weekend thrashing from Newcastle. This is a really talented team with a number of great players and in their two games since then, in the Premier League and a Europe Conference League qualifier, they’ve scored nine goals and conceded none.

Burnley put up a valiant effort in their first, and only, game so far but were seriously outclassed by Man City and I can see something similar happening here.

Ollie Watkins to Score

Over the past two seasons we’ve seen Ollie Watkins really develop into a top striker and it felt that last year under Emery we saw him really announce himself as one of the Premier League’s best goalscorers. Thanks to the insane tallies of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane we haven’t really heard enough about Watkins managing 15 goals in 37 games, a great return considering how poorly the team started the campaign before Emery came in.

Over two Premier League games we’ve seen more great football from Watkins but he’s yet to score, assisting one and averaging 1.5 shots per game. However, we did see him bag three goals midweek against Hibs in Europe, so he comes into this game in great form and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him start his tally for the Premier League season.

Sander Berge to Commit 1 or More Fouls

Sander Berge was a shrewd signing and taking one of Sheffield United’s best players from them was arguably a masterstroke in terms of potential Premier League survival. However, in Burnley’s only game of the season the Norwegian gave up two fouls, and we’re backing him to give up one or more here.

Playing in the engine room against a team with the quality of Villa is going to be a tough task and after what we saw last time out it feels highly likely that he’s going to end up conceding a foul against the likes of Douglas Luiz, Moussa Diaby and John McGinn.

Sheffield United v Man City

Bramall Lane, 2pm
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Premier League

Benie Traore to Commit 1 or More Fouls

Summer signing Benie Traore has started both games so far this season for Sheffield United with both games seeing the team lose by a goal. Now they face a step up from Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace with Man City arriving at Bramall Lane.

Traore has committed six fouls across both games so far. His commitment and work ethic has been very good but he appears rash at times. That’s going to be an issue against a team of Man City’s quality and we’re backing the forward to give away at least one foul here.

Jack Grealish to have 1 or More Shots on Target

We’ve only seen Jack Grealish start one of Man City’s two Premier League games this season, their most recent match against Newcastle, and there’s always a threat of Pep-roulette for any of City’s attackers.

That said, Grealish impressed against Newcastle and it’s unlikely we’ll see Guardiola start new signing Jeremy Doku immediately. With that in mind we’re backing the England man to get a shot on target against the Blades. He took three shots in his appearance against Newcastle and you’d have to think he’ll get more chances here.
