Arsenal -1 handicap

First up, we have Arsenal vs Fulham at the Emirates. Last season Fulham were hugely impressive but it feels like things might be falling apart in West London. They’ve lost Aleksandar Mitrovic to the Saudi Pro League and their best player last season, Joao Palhinha is injured and missing. Sure, they best basket-case club Everton but they got thrashed by Brentford and come into this game desperate for three points.

Arsenal might not have won either of their two games by a margin bigger than a goal yet but against Fulham, who feel dangerously close to falling into crisis, they should be able to use the speed and guile of their attack to win by a couple, back Arsenal -1 on the handicap.

Brentford v Crystal Palace – Jordan Ayew to commit 2 or more fouls

It’s been a consistent start from Crystal Palace, three points on the board, a 1-0 win and a 1-0 loss in their pockets. With new signing Matheus Franca injured their team still looking very similar to last year, especially with fan favourite Michael Olise out injured too.

That has mean we’ve seen plenty of Jordan Ayew, with the Ghanian playing out wide for Palace. He’s got an assist and a booking so far this season but we’re focused on his lack of discipline. So far he’s averaging 2.5 fouls conceded per game, the most on the Palace team and we’ll back him to commit at least two more on Saturday and keep up that trend.

Man Utd v Nottingham Forest – Morgan Gibbs-White to have 1 or more shots on target, Aaron Wan-Bissaka to commit 1 or more fouls

Morgan Gibbs-White was a joy to watch for England in the Under 21 Euros this summer, he managed to be a constant threat for his country. Fortunately for Steve Cooper he’s taken that great form into the new Premier League season and has been Nottingham Forest’s standout player through the opening fortnight.

He’s yet to score but he’s taken three shots so far this season, often finding enough wriggle room to shoot when he picks up the ball before the Forest strikers. In the past two games we’ve seen a poor Man Utd allow 17 shots to Spurs and 23 to Wolves. Expect to see Gibbs-White taking a couple of shots at least here and we’re backing at least one of those to be on target.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka started both games this season so far and has arguably been the clubs best player with three clearances and an assist, while also looking improved when on the ball.

One other thing that has been notable is that across two games he’s committed five fouls. He’s a talented defender and I’m not expecting him to keep up a 2.5 fouls per game average for long but you’re getting great odds on the RB commit one or more fouls here, which given recent performances is well worth taking

Everton v Wolves – Under 2.5 goals, Abdoulaye Doucoure to commit 1 or more fouls in the first half

Everton and Wolves are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and although Wolves were unfortunate to not get something from their defeat to Manchester United, it’s clear to see that both teams have issues in front of goal.

Through a combined four games Everton and Wolves have managed to score just one goal, which says a lot about their league position. Despite some terrible defensive play in the past two games it’s hard to see these two teams combining for Over 2.5 goals on Saturday, so we’re backing the Under.

Abdoulaye Doucoure had some bright spells for Everton last season, especially in the final few weeks when they managed to retain their Premeir League status. He hasn’t performed that well so far though, but despite that he’s managed to get around the pitch in both of his starts.

Unfortunately for Sean Dyche his running has often led to giving away pointless fouls, with the 30-year old’s average of 2.5 fouls per game the highest in the Everton team. I’m expecting him to be extra fired up ahead of this game, with this match already feeling like a six-pointer. For that reason I think we’ll see Doucoure fire out of the blocks and more than likely commit a foul in the first half.
