Marcus Rashford to Score
First up we’re backing Manchester United’s number 10 to bag a goal in this. This time last season we were wondering if Marcus Rashford had a future at Man Utd and whether Erik ten Hag would look to move the forward on.
Rashford seemed reborn under ten Hag, banging in 17 Premier League goals and another 13 in cup competitions for the club. Generally, Rashford played down the middle last year, occasionally playing wide and although Man Utd went out to sign Rasmus Hojlund, the Dane is already injured and won’t be making his debut for a little while.
That means Rashford will be down the middle. Wolves gave up 58 goals last term and given the situation around the club it’s easy to see Rashford scoring at least one under lights on Monday night.
Both Teams to Score – No
It’s been a great few years for Wolves fans, getting promoted from the Championship before cementing themselves as a consistent Premier League team. That status feels in jeopardy after Julen Lopetegui walked out on the club this past week. He was replaced by former Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil but it shows the chaos behind the scenes at the club.
Lopetegui was frustrated that Wolves hadn’t flexed their muscles in the transfer market and they are lacking serious firepower this year. Last season, despite finishing 13th, they scored just 31 goals, the lowest in the Premier League. Since then they’ve not signed another striker, with the exception of making Matheus Cunha’s loan permanent.
The Brazilian scored just two goals in 17 Premier League games last year. It’s really hard to see Wolves score here against a Man Utd defence that was pretty solid last year on home turf.

Over 2.5 Goals
With the greatest of respect to fans of Wolves their club is currently a shambles. While they were good defensively last year it’s clear that they aren’t quite as good in that regard this year.
Aside from the managerial downgrade from Lopetegui to O’Neil they’ve also lost Ruben Neves, with the midfielder moving to Saudi Arabia. Neves was a real leader on the pitch and one of his greatest attributes was arguably about how he could organise the team around him. He kept them compact and tight and the team will really miss his discipline.
We can see United running riot in their first home Premier League game of the season.
Mason Mount to Have 1 or More Shots on Target
There was a mixed reaction when Mason Mount moved from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford this summer. There seemed to be different feeling between Chelsea fans, with some furious to have sold the youth product and others not bothered. Likewise, a lot of United fans didn’t seem overly pleased, which to me is madness.
Last year was the worst of his career but he struggled with fitness in a Chelsea team who were in freefall and chaotic behind the scenes, all while feeling like the club weren’t being fair in contract negotiations. He ended up only scored three goals in all competitions. However, think back before that and Mount was incredible for Chelsea. The season before he had 11 Premier League goals and 10 assists. He’s a great price to have a shot on target here and we’re putting it into the Bet Builder. During that 21/22 season he averaged 2.4 shots per game and was a constant attacking threat. Against a poor Wolves team I’m expecting him to get in some advanced positions and get shots off on goal.
Nelson Semedo to Commit 2 or More Fouls
Last season Nelson Semedo got booked one in every three games and while he only fouled an average of 1.3 times per game I’m really confident that we’ll see the Portuguese foul at least twice on Monday.
Firstly, his main defensive shield in Ruben Neves has left the club which could leave him and the rest of the defence exposed. Secondly, we need to consider the quality of the team he’ll be up against.
