Morocco shipped six goals in their opening game against Germany, an uncharacteristically poor defensive display considering they have kept five clean sheets in their last nine games.
They returned to form in their 1-0 win over South Korea last time out and now have a slim chance of progressing to the knockout stages, although they will rely on favours elsewhere due to their awful goal difference.
Morocco have also misfired at the other end, failing to score in six of those nine games.
None of their last nine games have seen both teams find the back of the net and that run is unlikely to change against Colombia on Thursday.
Colombia recorded a famous last gasp win over Germany last time out after comfortably beating South Korea in their opening game.
They are almost guaranteed to qualify for the knockout stages, barring a five-goal defeat against Morocco. They have looked rock solid defensively throughout, only conceding one goal – a late penalty against Germany.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Colombia hold Morocco scoreless on Thursday.
Linda Caicedo to Have One or More Shots on Target
Linda Caicedo is enjoying an excellent World Cup to date.
The 18-year-old Real Madrid forward has scored in each of Colombia’s two games so far, putting them 1-0 up against Germany and adding the insurance goal in 2-0 win over South Korea.
Colombia, meanwhile, have attempted 26 shots in their two games to date, managing to find the target with nine of them for an average of over four shots on target per game.
They are likely to match that average against a Morocco side that has faced 32 shots in their two World Cup games to date, giving Caicedo every chance of finding the target again on Thursday, if not finding the back of the net.
Germany’s progress to the knockout stages is by no means assured after their shock defeat to Colombia last time out, but they should have little problems against a South Korea side that has lost both games at the World Cup.
South Korea are yet to even score a goal at the competition but can still progress to the knockouts, albeit only be beating Germany by five goals.
There is little chance of them drawing on Thursday, let alone winning by five or more.
Germany were rampant in their opening game against Morocco and should be back on form against a side that lost to Morocco last time out.
Anything other than a comfortable German win would be a huge surprise.
Alexandra Popp to Score Anytime
Alexandra Popp is enjoying an excellent World Cup so far.
The Wolfsburg striker has score three times in two games at the tournament and is as good a bet as any German player to get on the scoresheet again on Thursday.
Popp has scored an impressive 65 goals in 130 games for Germany, including six goals at the Euros last summer.
She is clearly a player for the big occasion and will step up to the mark with Germany in need of a victory to book passage to the last-16.
South Korea to Have Three or More Shots on Target
South Korea may have failed to score at the World Cup in their opening two games, but they have given it a rattle, attempting 16 shots against Morocco and finding the target three times against Colombia.
They may exit the tournament after failing to score in any of their games, but they will provide a test for a German defence that has looked shaky throughout, even in the 6-0 win over Morocco.
Germany have four shots on target in each of their games at the World Cup so far, despite winning 6-0 and enjoying 75% of the ball in one of them.
South Korea should find some joy against the German defence and will be desperate to score their first goal at the World Cup. There is a good chance that they hit the target at least three times.
