Saturday 10:30am: England v Haiti

England -4

We’re all over Saturday’s Women’s World Cup action and England play their first game Down Under in the morning.

The Lionesses’ aim is to win the competition after their Euros success last summer and they can get off to the perfect start against an inferior Haiti side.

England’s last couple of friendlies haven’t been brilliant, however, Sarina Wiegman’s side know how to turn it on when they’re on the biggest stage.

An England win is guaranteed, it’s just a case of the winning margin. We’re confident the Lionesses will put on a show in their World Cup opener, so we’re backing England -4 on the Handicap.

Rachel Daly to Score 2 or More Goals

We’re all over an England domination and if anyone’s going to score goals for the Lionesses at the World Cup, it’s Rachel Daly.

The Aston Villa forward, who started at left-back in last season’s Euros final, netted 22 goals in her 22 WSL appearances last season.

She’s been a revelation since joining Villa and Daly finished the season in fine form, netting 10 times in her final five appearances.

The 31-year-old is nailed on to bag against Haiti but we’re being bold and backing Daly to Score 2 or More Goals.

Saturday 12pm: Denmark v China

Denmark to Win

England and Haiti’s fellow Group D rivals also go head to head on Saturday, with Denmark and China battling it out in Perth.

Denmark come into the World Cup in solid form having won four of their last five outings. They’ve also been brilliant in front of goal, with Lars Sondergaard’s side scoring 12 in their last six matches.

China, meanwhile, have won just two of their last nine games in all competitions.

All signs point to a Denmark victory. They should have enough quality to edge past China as the Danes eye second behind England in Group D.

Pernille Harder to Score Anytime

Denmark’s attacking game relies on Pernille Harder and she’s the heartbeat in Sondergaard’s side.

Harder, who joined Bayern Munich this summer after her Chelsea contract expired, only made 14 appearances last season after returning from injury.

Despite only turning out 14 times, she still netted 11 goals and chipped in with three assists.

Harder scored 146 times in her 191 appearances for Wolfsburg and Chelsea between 2017 and this summer – and we’re backing her to get on the scoresheet once again.
