- EH, PADDY – WHAT THE HELL IS A MULTI-MATCH BET BUILDER? LET US EXPLAIN RIGHT HERE!
For Thursday’s European games we’re taking a look at the best of the fixtures involving the Welsh and Irish teams. We’ve got six games here and found plenty of value in the markets for a very tasty-looking Multi-Match Bet Builder. Let’s get straight to it.
Connah’s Quay v KA Akureyri
Park Hall Stadium, Oswestry, 7pm
Both Teams to Score, No
We said last week that KA held the upper hand thanks to being a third of the way through their season while Wales’ Connah’s Quay were yet to kick a ball. In the first leg last Thursday they failed to find the back of the net and ended up losing 2-0. The Icelanders have failed to score a goal in four of their last five away games while the hosts were averaging just a goal per game over their last five at home. This one should be tense and we can’t see many goals, so we’re going with the value in the Both Teams to Score, No market.
Glentoran v Gzira
The Oval, Belfast, 7:30pm
Both Teams to Score
It’s evenly poised at 2-2 going into the second leg here. The market does expect a home win however and it’s hard to argue with that seeing as they recently drew with St Mirren and beat Kilmarnock over recent home friendlies. The Maltese side have only won two of their last five on the road but have scored a total of 10 so we’re expecting them to hit the target at least once.
Glentoran to Win
The hosts have scored 13 over their last five competitive home games it must be noted and with home advantage we have to give them the nod to advance to the next round.
Derry City v HB Torshavn
The Brandywell Stadium, Derry, 7:45pm
Both Teams to Score, No
Derry to Win
The League of Ireland side are quite short odds to beat their Faroese opponents here even though they could only play out a 0-0 in last week’s first leg. The Candystripes will be relying on their home form, seeing as they’ve now won four of their last six games, drawing the other two. With the Brandywell in full voice, it’s hard to see anything other than HB being iced here, particularly as the hosts have kept four clean sheets over that run of six games, so we’re going with two picks; Derry to Win and Both Teams to Score, No.

Dundalk v Magpies
Oriel Park, Dundalk, 7:45pm
Dundalk -1
Burno’s Magpies, to give them their full name, were established in 2013 by the patrons of a Gibraltar pub called Brunos. So, yes, Dundalk couldn’t beat a pub team last week. The market very much expects a home win this time around however. The hosts have gone seven games at Oriel Park without a loss, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five games. We just can’t see the Gibraltarian side doing much, we’re likely looking at a 2-0 or above so we’re taking Dundalk -1.
St Patrick’s Athletic v Dudelange
Richmond Park, Dublin, 7:45pm
Both Teams to Score
A late Mark Doyle goal for St Pat’s kept them in the tie last week in Luxembourg and the market, again, expects a home win. Jon Daly’s side are in decent nick on home soil, winning five of their last six and drawing the other one, scoring 18 goals over those six games. The away side weren’t shy of getting forward last week and an early goal might put the game to bed. Pat’s have to attack which means there’ll be open space at the back for the away side. It’s going to be tense in Inchicore but we reckon Both Teams to Score has the best value here.
Crusaders v Haka
Seaview, Belfast, 8pm
Crusaders to Win
Again the market favours the home side here. Haka, however went from 0-1 down early in the first leg to 2-1 up before a 68th minute goal from Ross Clarke forced a draw. The away side don’t tend to travel well however, they’ve failed to win any of their last 11 games on their travels while the hosts. Thanks to that we have to side with Crusaders.
